Note: If you have a Premium Minecraft server or have purchased the Advanced Support Addon for your Budget Minecraft server, installing custom mod-packs can be done automatically when requested through a Support Ticket. After providing the pack you want to have installed, our staff will install the necessary files for you. If you prefer to do the install it manually, follow the steps below:
Note: This tutorial requires you to configure an FTP to your server. Learn how to set up an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) here.
How to install a custom modpack on your server:
1. Prepare the modpack files by extracting the folder somewhere on your desktop. (typically, modpacks will have a Download Server Files button on the launcher page.)
2. Open the folder, and there are a few options. If there are only a few files and a .bat file, double click and run the .bat file. Move to the next step if you already see a minecraft.jar and a forge.jar.
3. Rename the forge .jar file to custom.jar (leave the minecraft_server<version>.jar file alone).
4. Select all the folder's contents, then right-click>Send to>Compressed (zipped) folder.
5. Open and connect an FTP client to your server. (click here for a tutorial on how to configure an FTP).
6. Drag and drop the compress .zip folder onto the FTP client.
7. Log in to your BisectHosting control panel.
8. Click File Manager, then locate the zipped folder.
9. Select the folder, then click More>Unarchive.
10. Return to the homepage, and select Open Jar Menu.
11. Select Custom, then Custom .jar. Click Save.
12. Restart your server.
