How to setup voice chat on your Forge/Fabric/Spigot Minecraft server

Note: To install a voice chat plugin/mod on your server, you must have either Spigot, Paper, Fabric, or Forge installed. Depending on which instance you have installed, changes the installation steps for Simple Voice Chat. Refer to the various tutorials below for more details:


How to set up voice chat on your server (FORGE):
1. Log in to your BisectHosting control panel.

2. Download the Simple Voice Chat mod on your computer.
    (Make sure you have the mod installed on your client as well!)

3. On your control panel, click File Manager and open the Mods folder.



4. Click Upload and drag and drop the mod downloaded in Step 2.


5. Restart your server.


6. Click Enable UDP Network on the Home panel.


7. In the File Manager, open the World folder. Click on the serverconfig directory and then Edit the voicechat-server.toml file.


8. Confirm the server IP address matches your server. If not, copy and paste it from the Home page.


9. Restart your server.

 


How to set up voice chat on your server (FABRIC):
1. Log in to your BisectHosting control panel.

2. Download the Simple Voice Chat mod on your computer.
    (Make sure you have the mod installed on your client as well!)

3. On your control panel, click File Manager and open the Mods folder.



4. Click Upload and drag and drop the mod downloaded in Step 2.


5. Restart your server.


6. Click Enable UDP Network on the Home panel.


7. In the File Manager, open the config folder. Click on the voicechat directory and then Edit the voicechat-server.properties file.


8. Confirm the server IP address matches your server. If not, copy and paste it from the Home page.


9. Restart your server.

 


How to set up voice chat on your server (SPIGOT/PAPER):

Note: You need to have the dependency plugin ProtocolLib installed.
Note: You will need to have the Fabric version of this mod installed on your client in order to use it.


1. Log in to your BisectHosting control panel.

2. Download Simple Voice Chat on your computer.

3. Click File Manager and open the plugins folder.


4. Select Upload and drag and drop the plugin downloaded from Step 2.


5. Restart your server.


6. Click Enable UDP Network on the Home panel.


7. In the File Manager, open the plugins>voicechat directory.

8. Edit the voice-chat-server.properties file.


9. Confirm the server IP address matches your server. If not, copy and paste it from the Home page.


10. Restart your server.
