How to use the File Manager

How to use the File Manager:
The File Manager is a helpful tool that allows BisectHosting server owners to move, edit, upload, and download files directly on the control panel.
Note:
 File Manager uploads are limited to 500MB. If the file your uploading is larger than 500MB, consider using an FTP Client. Learn how to configure that here.

Uploading Files:
1. Go to the directory of where you'd like to upload your files.

2.
Select Upload.


3. Drag and drop or click to select files on your computer to upload.


Creating files and folders:
1. Go to the directory of where you'd like to create a folder or file.

2.
Select Create. Then select either New File or New Directory (aka New Folder).


3. Name the new file or folder.


4. Click Create File or Create Directory.


Renaming files and folders:
1.
Select the folder or file you wish to change.


2.
Select Rename.


3.
Enter the desired name. Click Rename.


Moving files to directories:
1. 
Select the desired files/folders.


2.
Select Move.


3.
Enter directory destination. Example: "/plugins" would move selected files to the plugins folder.


Deleting files:
1. 
Select the desired files/folders.


2.
Select Delete.


Unarchive/uncompress/extract zipped folders:
1. 
Select the folder you wish to unarchive.


2.
Select More>Unarchive.


3. Confirm Unarchive.


Download single files:
1.
Locate and click the file you wish to download. (You may have to disable pop-ups for your web browser.)


Download multiple files:
1. 
Select the desired files you wish to download.


2.
Select More>Download.


3. BisectHosting will automatically compress the files and begin downloading.


Check file and folder size:
1. 
Select a file.


2.
Select More>Check disk usage.


Edit files and configs:
1. 
Locate the desired file you wish to edit.

2.
Select Edit on the right side.


3. Once modifications are complete, click Save and close.
