How to change the castle decay rate on a V Rising server

Summary
V Rising has constant updates pushed regularly, and while these updates provide exciting times to jump into fresh servers or wipe existing servers, it is also an excellent opportunity to plan when the server will wipe. By knowing when server wipes will occur, server owners can set their Castle Settings and decay rate accordingly; with long-running servers, it may be wise to turn off the decay rate entirely so players can jump right in. Alternatively, making the rate faster could ensure that new players always have land to claim.

How to Change the Castle Decay Rate on a V Rising Server

1.
Log in to the BisectHosting Games panel.

2. Stop the server.

3
. Choose the Config Files dropdown menu and select Game Settings.

4. Navigate to the "CastleDecayRateModifier": section.

5. Set to a higher value to make castles decay faster, lower for a slow rate, or 0 to turn off decay entirely.

6. Next to the decay rate, Essence Drain affects how quickly castles use essence reserves.

7. Set a desired value following the same rules listed in step 5.

Note Essence drain has a minimum value of 0.1 , values below this will cause the server to crash on startup.

8. Once finished editing, choose Save Content.

9. Start the server.
