Embark on an exciting journey as a vampire who has just awakened from a long slumber in V Rising. Much has transformed in the realm of Vardoran during your absence. To help you navigate this thrilling new adventure, explore this V Rising Beginner's Guide 2025, which covers everything from Act I to the endgame.

V Rising Progression Guide for Beginners

V Rising Beginner's Guide 2025 Although this guide is aimed at V Rising beginners, vampire veterans can still use the following information upon starting a new game. Remember, players must start a new game to enjoy most of the content and features offered by the Invaders of Oakveil update, except for the paid DLC options.

Act I

V Rising Act I After creating your vampire, wake up your vampire from deep slumber. Then, proceed by going through the cemetery while learning the game’s basic controls and features. Once finished, enter the world of Vardoran by choosing which side of the Farbane Woods to spawn into. Next, travel to the Alpha Wolf Den west of the Farbane Woods. Assuming that you have the basic controls down, this first V Blood Carrier fight should be done in a few moments. Also, don’t forget to complete the tutorial quests, as some objectives unlock valuable blueprints for your castle. Speaking of your vampiric kingdom, find a suitable place in Farbane Woods to set up your first castle. At this point, think of making it a quaint home instead of a grandiose fortress (that will come eventually). Now that you have a place to call home in Vardoran. Proceed through the game by exploring the map at night. If you’re still out and about when daylight arrives, find cover and wait it out. Otherwise, your vampire incurs sun damage, depleting your character’s health over time. While exploring, gather resources, loot chests, and defeat enemies along the way. Then, when you’re ready, defeat the following V Blood Bosses for their loot and unlockables:
  • Rufus the Foreman
  • Errol the Stonebreaker
  • Keely the Frost Archer
Then, go through your kill list of V Blood Carriers until you reach a point wherein you must defeat Kodia the Ferocious Bear and Quincey the Bandit King. Although both bosses are over Level 30 and pose formidable offensive and defensive capabilities, they should still go down with a good fight despite your vampire being under-leveled. The fall of the Bandit King sparks a new chapter into your vampiric adventure in Vardoran as you now enter Act II.

Act II

V Rising Act II More exploration and boss-killing await upon entering Act II. This time, your goals should include crafting iron weapons and the Hollowfang armor set. Note that these items need a significant amount of Iron Ore and Cotton. Aim to craft the iron-type weapon of your choice and the Hollowfang armor set before defeating more V Blood Carriers, especially when preparing for the fight against the last boss of Act II, Octavian, the Militia Captain. Additionally, you should now be able to explore outside of Farbane Woods. Start by venturing into the Dunley Farmlands, as you’ll be able to get your first servants from this location that’s densely populated by humans. Remember, you must progress through the main quests to unlock the Dominate Human action for an NPC to become your servant. Back at your castle, develop it further with new rooms and working stations. At this point, a prison with prison cells should be built. Next, find and capture high-blood-quality prisoners, so you won’t need to frequently explore the map if you run out of valuable blood. When you’re ready, travel to the Bastion of Dudley in the Dunley Farmlands to battle against Octavian. This Level 58 V Blood Boss won't go down without a fight, and fight he will! Defeat him and enter Act III.

Act III

V Rising Act III Even more farming for items awaits in Act III. This time, you should focus on farming for the Dawnthorn armor set, which needs 32x Silk and 48x Pristine Leather. Achieving this goal also means you must gather 1,000x Pristine Hide, 1,000x Mutant Grease, 64x Silkworms, and 64x Cloth. Consider converting leftover Leather and Grass into Cloth if you’re running out of the material. Also, remember to defeat Angram the Purifier in Gloomrot to unlock the Dawnthorn armor set crafting recipe. He’s a Level 61 V Blood Carrier patrolling around the Pools of Rebirth in Gloomrot South. This V Blood Boss also has a pesky shield, which you can bypass by using AoE spells. Additionally, travel to the Spider Cave in the Cursed Forest to find and defeat Ungora the Spider Queen for the Pristine Leather recipe. Alternatively, defeat stalkers, bears, and wolves in Western Gloomrot to farm this resource. Proceed to farm the required resources and build workstations until you get each piece of the Dawnthorn armor set. Once completed, travel to the Cursed Village in the Cursed Forest to battle the Level 65 V Blood Carrier, Cyril the Cursed Smith. Defeat him to enter Act IV.

Act IV

V Rising Act IV Although it’s the final act of V Rising, it’s not going to be the end of your vampire narrative. Nonetheless, remember to improve your castle (or castles) and gather as many resources as possible. Additionally, hunt V Blood Carriers like Jade the Vampire Hunter for the Advanced Blood Press recipe and target the Vampire Hunter for crafting Exquisite Hearts and Greater Blood Essences. Another V Blood Boss that should be on your hit list at this point in the game is Grethel the Glassblower, which should be a walk in the park since she’s only Level 50. Defeating her rewards you with the Glass crafting recipe, an essential material for crafting Radium Alloy and healing potions. Other important objectives you should be completing in Act IV include the following:
  • Craft Dark Silver weapons
  • Craft the Blood Merlot Amulet after defeating Baron du Bouchon the Sommelier
  • Craft the Dawnthorn armor set by researching the crafting recipes for each component at the Athenaeum
  • Improve the Dark Silver weapons into their Sanguine counterparts
Once you’re ready, defeat other V Blood Bosses you may have missed, such as Gorecrusher the Behemoth and even Simon Belmont the Vampire Hunter from the Legacy of Castlevania update. Then, if you’re REALLY ready, travel to the Ruins of Mortium and challenge the Lord of Darkness himself, Dracula the Immortal King, for the final(?) V Rising showdown.

Endgame

V Rising Endgame Remember, defeating Dracula isn’t the end but the beginning of a blissful vampiric life in Vardoran. This time, you should be able to decimate relatively every enemy that dares challenge you and your presence. Also, take this time to build the castle of your dreams. Otherwise, explore the new Oakveil Woodlands biome and challenge its hostile inhabitants, particularly the V Blood Carrier, Megara the Serpent Queen. Other ways to enjoy V Rising during the endgame can include the following:
  • Start a new server, but this time play on Brutal difficulty.
  • Min-max your gear to become the ultimate vampire in Vardoran.
  • Decorate your vampire with cosmetics.
  • Challenge other players by enabling PvP in your V Rising server.
  • Get all achievements.
