Finding Your World Seed in Valheim

World Seed In Valheim There are two main methods for identifying your world seed in Valheim, one involving File Explorer, and the other using SkToolBox.

Option #1: Use File Explorer

  1. Click on the “Start” button
  2. Type “run” without the quotes and press the enter key on your keyboard
  3. On the new window, type “%USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow” without the quotes and click “OK
  4. Navigate to the “IronGate” folder and open it
  5. Open the “Valheim” folder, then the “Worlds” folder
  6. Check the world seed names in the “Worlds” folder (these files have .db and .fwl extensions)

Option #2: Install and Use the SkToolBox Mod

  1. Download the SkToolBox Mod and save it to your preferred location on your PC
  2. Open your Steam library, and right-click on “Valheim” at the sidebar
  3. Select “Properties,” then click the “Local Files” sidebar item on the window that appears
  4. With the Local Files section open, click on the “Browse” button
  5. Extract the file you downloaded in Step 1 to your Valheim game folder
  6. Launch Valheim and enter your world
  7. Open the console command by pressing F5
  8. Type “/seed” without the quotes and press Enter
  9. Check the world seed information that displays on the game’s command window
Note: Players can also use the SkToolBox mod to spawn in-game items. Once found, you can share your world seed online. Upload the .db and .fwl files of your world seed to your preferred platform. Note that those downloading an uploaded world seed should place the files in the Valheim folder on their PCs.
