Details and Adjustments

Alongside all the features released in previous Minecraft 1.20 snapshots, snapshot 23W14A includes adjustments to sculk blocks, enchanting tables, and desert temples. More details on each in our highlights below!
Sculk Blocks
  • Waterlogged Sculk Shriekers Are Now Silent
  • Calibrated & Non-Calibrated Sculk Sensors Strongly Power the Block Beneath It
  • Calibrated Sculk Sensors Active Cooldown Reduced From 2 to 1 Second
  • Calibrated Sculk Sensors Now Detect Vibrations From up to 16 Blocks Away
Sculk blocks are getting a ton of love in preparation for release day! In addition to the changes above, players can expect even more consistency from the vibration-detecting sculk blocks thanks to updated outputs and improvements to receiving redstone signals.
Enchanting
  • Replaceable Blocks No Longer Block Bookshelves & Enchanting Tables
How many times has your enchanting room table been unknowingly sabotaged? Well, replaceable blocks are no longer a problem as of today! Quality of life adjustments are always a welcome change.
Desert Temples
  • The Hidden Room is Now Easier to Locate
  • Suspicious Sand Guaranteed to Generate on Top Layer
The hidden room in desert temples now generates with more of it’s roof collapsed and suspicious sand at the top. Perhaps their play tests revealed players were having trouble finding them?
New Java Edition Icons
  • Java Edition Logo Updated
  • Java Edition Launcher Icon Updated
  • Java Edition Snapshot Icon Updated
The updated art looks much smoother! What are your thoughts on the adjustments Mojang made?
