How to Craft the True Night’s Edge in Terraria

Crafting the True Night’s Edge in Terraria is a quest in itself. Players must go through a fairly lengthy crafting process to make this endgame sword. Although arduous, crafting this Hardmode weapon isn’t impossible. Note the following weapons you must gather to craft the True Night’s Edge in Terraria:

Blade of Grass

Terraria Blade of Grass Gather 12x Jungle Spores and 15x Stinger in the Underground Jungle biome. Then, use those items near an Iron or Lead Anvil to craft the Blade of Grass sword. Note that this item is craftable in Classic Mode.

Muramasa

Terraria Muramasa A broadsword that can only be found in the Locked Gold Chests or Golden Lock Boxes in the Dungeon. Note that you must use a Golden Key, which can drop from Dungeon Slimes, to open those containers. Players must pray to RNG that one of these golden chests has the Muramasa, as other items may appear instead.

Volcano

Terraria Volcano The Volcano is a great sword obtainable by crafting it at the Iron or Lead Anvil using 20x Hellstone Bar. Players can craft 1x Hellstone Bar using 3x Hellstone and 1x Obsidian at the Hellforge. That means you must farm 60x Hellstone and 20x Obsidian to craft 20x Hellstone Bar.

Light’s Bane

Terraria Light's Bane Use 10x Demonite Bar at the Iron or Lead Anvil to craft the Light’s Bane sword. Craft 1x Demonite Bar using 3x Demonite Ore at the Furnace. Alternatively, 1x Crimtane Bar at the Chlorophyte Exctractinator Conversion station can be used to make a 1x Demonite Bar.

Night’s Edge

Terraria Night's Edge Use 1x Blade of Grass, 1x Muramasa, 1x Volcano, and 1x Light’s Bane at a Demon or Crimson Altar to craft the Night’s Edge. Then, use the Night’s Edge with 20x Soul of Fright, 20x Soul of Might, and 20x Soul of Sight near a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil to craft your prize, the True Night’s Edge. Players can farm the soul items by defeating the three mechanical Hardmode bosses: Skeletron Prime, The Destroyer, and The Twins. In particular, Skeletron Prime drops the Soul of Fright, The Destroyer rewards its victors with the Soul of Might, and The Twins have the Soul of Sight. Note: The crafting recipe for the True Night’s Edge used to have the Broken Hero Sword, but Update 1.4.1 changed it to the Souls items from the Hardmode bosses.

True Night’s Edge Usage

Terraria True Night's Edge Use With the True Night’s Edge crafted, players may use it with the True Excalibur and Broken Hero Sword at a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil to craft the Terra Blade. Crafting the Terra Blade lets you be one step closer to making what is arguably the best sword in Terraria – the Zenith.
