Honey is a golden essence carrying Mother Nature’s subtle niceties and complexities. It’s a great reward for those who nurture nature’s rhythms, especially in Stardew Valley. This item has various uses, and selling it en masse can help players significantly increase their ROI. So, keep reading to learn how to farm Honey in Stardew Valley and how to maximize your profits by selling it directly or using it as a valuable ingredient!

How to Get Honey in Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley Honey Farming Players can get and farm Honey in Stardew Valley through the Bee House. Unlock the recipe for this artisan equipment at Farming Lv. 3, and it needs 40x Wood, 8x Coal, 1x Iron Bar, and 1x Iron Syrup to craft. Once crafted and placed, the Bee House yields 1x Honey per four days during every season except winter. Alternatively, players can purchase Honey from the Traveling Cart. However, its price fluctuates from 300 to 1,000 gold pieces. The Oasis also has this item in stock every Friday, and it costs 200 gold pieces per unit.

Honey Usage in Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley Honey Despite its real-world counterpart, Stardew Valley Honey can’t be consumed. Nonetheless, this artisan good has various uses, such as selling it directly or using it to craft even more expensive products. Note that sold Honey yields 300 to 600 gold pieces (420 to 840 gold pieces with the Artisan profession), depending on the rarity. Players can also place Honey in a Keg to make Mead. Note that Mead has the same selling price as Honey. However, Mead is a consumable item that grants the Tipsy effect, which provides a random buff to the user. However, Mead also temporarily reduces the user’s speed by 1 upon use. Alternatively, leaving Honey in a Bee House that’s near a flower bed produces Flower Honey. Selling the Flower Honey may increase its selling price, but it depends on the type of flowers in a 5-tile area surrounding the Bee House. Below are the selling prices of Flower Honey based on the nearby flowers:
  • Tulip: 160 gold pieces
  • Blue Jazz: 200 gold pieces
  • Summer Spangle: 280 gold pieces
  • Poppy: 380 gold pieces
  • Sunflower: 260 gold pieces (added in Version 1.4)
  • Fairy Rose: 680 gold pieces
Note: Selling prices increase by 40% with the Artisan profession. Be careful, as harvesting the flowers before getting the Honey in the Bee House transforms the item into Wild Honey. This type of Honey in Stardew Valley has the lowest selling price, as it only sells for 100 gold pieces (140 gold pieces with the Artisan profession). Players can also give Honey to Stardew Valley NPCs, as most villagers like to receive this item. Some notable examples include Abigail, Dwarf, Elliott, Gus, and Haley, and giving Honey to these NPCs will increase their relationship levels with the player. However, Maru and Sebastian hate receiving this item. Other uses of Honey in Stardew Valley include the following:
  • A crafting ingredient for the Warp Totem: Farm, which requires 1x Honey, 1x Hardwood, and 20x Fiber.
  • An option to complete the Artisan Bundle in the Pantry at the Community Center.
  • A spool in the Sewing Machine to create a dyeable Simple Dress.
