How to change the difficulty on a Palworld server

Requirement
Servers function on Custom difficulty settings. Do not edit the Difficulty=None setting as it may cause issues.


How to Change the Difficulty on a Palworld Server
1. Log in to the BisectHosting Starbase panel.

2. Stop the server.


3. Under the Config Files tab, select Server Settings.


4. Enter the desired difficulty settings.

Setting Casual Normal Hard Hardcore

For Hardcore settings, input True next to bHardcore= and bCharacterRecreateInHardcore=.

Note If the format of the current config is broken, the server will run the latest saved backup file. If the backup is also broken, the server will crash. Delete the contents of the file and leave [/Script/Pal.PalGameWorldSettings] on the top line then export a new .ini file here.


5. Press the Save button.


6. Go to the Startup tab.


7. From the Death Penalty field, choose the desired difficulty.

8. Start the server.
