Life as a vampire means you need to harvest blood. In V Rising, Scholar Blood is one of the ten blood types available. While it's great for specific vampiric builds, you ought to know where to find scholar blood and what it's good for. We have all the info you're looking for right here.

Where to Find Scholar Blood in V Rising

V Rising Mosswick Village location As with all blood types, you can find Scholar Blood in random NPCs all over the map. However, some spots are much more likely to have higher quantities of Scholar Blood. Additionally, some spots have better sources for higher-quality blood. Here are some locations where you can find higher qualities of Scholar Blood:
  • Brighthaven
  • Dunley Monastery
  • Mosswick Village
  • Dawnbreak Village
While each has a strong concentration of Scholar Blood candidates, Mosswick Village (pictured on the map screenshot above) is the best place to find more scholarly plasma. Mosswick Village is small enough that you don't have to do too much exploring to find each of the harvestable NPCs. At Mosswick, you can find sources of Scholar Blood that are 90% or higher in quality. Remember, you can always know which NPCs have the highest quality blood by looking for the villagers with red auras around them. While you can always run by Mosswick for a quick drink, the best way to ensure you always have access to some premium Scholar Blood is to capture a human and keep them at your base. Just don't forget to keep your in-home juicebox alive, or you'll have to capture a new one all over again.

How to Use Scholar Blood

As with all blood types in V Rising, Scholar Blood has a few different effects based on its quality. Here are the buffs you can expect from different qualities of Scholar Blood:
  • I: 7-14% Increased Spell Power and 10% Shield Efficiency
  • II: 7-14% Increased Spell Cooldown Rate and shield self for 25% of your spell power when casting a spell.
  • III: 10-20% Ultimate Power and reset your Spell Cooldowns when using an Ultimate.
  • IV: 12 Increased Spell Charge Gain.
  • V: Boost all above effects by 20% and increases the maximum cap of blood effects with an equal amount.
As you can see, Scholar Blood is a fantastic choice for any vampire who wants to power up their spells. Scholar Blood at the lower qualities doesn't offer a considerable advantage. Tier two has the incredibly useful bonus of granting you some defensive power whenever you cast a spell, but tiers three and above are especially worthwhile for spell-slingers. Spells are an essential part of combat at all times in V Rising, but they often have lengthy cooldowns. Gathering Scholar Blood enables you to use your spells much more frequently. Even with magic-infused blood, you'll still have to swing a weapon now and then. Just remember to stay on your toes, dodge often, and hurl your spells whenever you can!
