Unleash the power of a legendary swordsmith with the Muramasa in Terraria. However, finding it may not be an easy task for some players, as it requires some luck for it to appear. So, save yourself the trouble of wandering around the map as we help you find this mythical melee weapon through this guide.

How to Get Muramasa in Terraria

Terraria Muramasa The first requirement to getting the Muramasa in Terraria is to defeat Skeletron. Doing so should unlock the Dungeon. Here, look for and open Gold Chests and Golden Lock Boxes for a chance to get this broadsword. Remember, the Muramasa is only one of the many items that may appear from these containers. Other items that you might encounter in these chests and boxes include the Vampire Pendant, Magic Mirror, Cloud in a Bottle, and Band of Regeneration. Moreover, various common items can also be found in these containers. Some examples include healing potions, common accessories (e.g., Dog Collar, Cow Bell, and Balloony Beads), and the Extractinator. Still, a Locked Gold Chest generally has a higher chance of having the Muramasa than the container’s unlocked variant.

Muramasa Stats, Uses, & Crafting Recipes

Terraria Muramasa Use Wielding the Muramasa in Terraria lets the wielder take advantage of the following stats:
  • Damage Type: Melee
  • Base Damage: 24
  • Knockback: 3
  • Critical hit chance: 4%
  • Bonus Effect: As of Update 1.4.4, swinging the sword creates a slash that deals 50% of the weapon’s damage. This hit has no knockback and has 5 armor penetration.
Note that only the first hit from this weapon generates the slash. Also, the sword’s length and swing animation make it possible to hit enemies behind the player. Apart from using the Muramasa as a weapon, it’s also one of the crafting ingredients to craft the Night’s Edge. Crafting the Night’s Edge brings you one step closer to making its upgraded versiopn, the True Night's Edge. Craft that weapon, and you'll even be closer to owning what is arguably the best melee weapon in Terraria – the Zenith. With that, craft the Night’s Edge using the following crafting ingredients at the Demon or Crimson Altar:
  • Light’s Bane (Corruption world) or Blood Butcherer (Crimson world)
  • Muramasa
  • Blade of Grass
  • Volcano
