Are you planning to make the perfect castle-themed base with a moat? Perhaps you’re tired of traveling far to get water in Terraria. If so, get the Bottomless Water Bucket and never say “I ran out of water” again! So, keep reading to learn how to get the Bottomless Water Bucket in Terraria and its many uses.

How to Get the Bottomless Water Bucket in Terraria

Terraria Bottomless Water Bucket First, it’s important to mention that the usefulness of the Bottomless Water Bucket in Terraria is locked behind the game’s final boss, the Moon Lord. In particular, you must defeat the Moon Lord to unlock the specific fishing quest from the Angler NPC that rewards the Bottomless Water Bucket. Additionally, you must complete ten quests from the Angler for the NPC to have the chance to offer the quest with the Bottomless Water Bucket reward. In pre-hardmode, the Bottomless Water Bucket is guaranteed to appear as the reward for completing the Angler’s 25th quest. So, complete the game in Hardmode, and switch to a pre-Hardmode world seed to do fishing quests offered by the Angler. If you're unlucky, and the Bottomless Water Bucket doesn't appear as a reward for completing 10+ quests, you should still get it after fishing the 25th mission. Note: Dropping the Bottomless Water Bucket in Shimmer transmutes it into the Bottomless Shimmer Bucket.

Bottomless Water Bucket Uses

Terraria Bottomless Water Bucket Uses Since the Bottomless Water Bucket doesn’t run out of water, players can unlock various uses without significantly relying on a natural water source as of the item’s release on Version 1.3.0.1. Some of the potential uses of the Bottomless Water Bucket in Terraria include the following:
  • Create artificial lakes around bases, acting as natural defenses against enemy invasions.
  • Catch fish in most places on the map, except in The Underworld (since water in this biome evaporates).
  • Transform lava into Obsidian and Honey into Honey Blocks.
  • Place water blocks below the character model and “walk” on them with the Water Walking Boots to reach the Floating Islands.
  • Transmute it into the Bottomless Shimmer Bucket to bring Shimmer to a pre-Hardmode world.
  • Craft various items that require water as an ingredient, including Bottled Water, Wet Bomb, Wet Rocket, Water Candle, and Magic Water Dropper.
