The Workbench is an essential deployable structure in Rust used to craft a wide range of items, from early-game Bucket Helmets to end-game Rocket Launchers. How to Upgrade the Workbench in Rust

One shouldn’t mistake upgrading the Workbench for using higher-tiered versions of this workstation. Introduced in the Upgrade Hard, Raid Harder Update, Workbench upgrades consist of adding certain items to the workstation’s inventory. These special items improve specific effects from the Workbench, such as removing Scrap requirements and boosting crafting speeds. Note that these items are non-craftable and are often found in mid- to high-tier crates, such as Elite and Locked Crates. With that, the items to find to upgrade your Workbench in Rust are the following:

• Prototype Upgrade: Allows the unlocking of any item on the tech tree out of order by paying double the normal cost, but there’s a 10% chance the attempt will fail and still use up the resources.
• Range Upgrade: Expands the Workbench’s crafting radius to twice its default size.
• Comfort Upgrade: Creates a full 100% comfort zone around the workbench.
• Salvage Upgrade: Cuts the Scrap needed for unlocking tech tree nodes by 20%.
• Defensive Upgrade: Ensures that any clothing crafted will always include at least one armor plate slot.
• Efficiency Upgrade: When you craft in batches (excluding rockets and C4), you have a 10% chance to get an extra item for free.
• Recycle Bin Upgrade: Gives a random chance to get back between 0% and 10% of the crafting ingredients as raw materials.
• Reinforced Upgrade: Raises the Workbench’s health by 150% and provides resistance to explosive damage.
• Accelerated Upgrade: Boosts crafting speed based on batch completion.
• Surplus Upgrade: Offers a chance to produce random leftover parts that are usable in alternate crafting recipes.
