Among the different monuments in Rust, the Power Plant is a location that often demands respect from various community members. Make no mistake: this monument isn’t beginner-friendly, as it demands parkour, situational awareness, and proper preparation. That said, those who brave its challenges will be rewarded with glorious loot, including a Red Keycard. So, keep reading to formulate strategies, solve the puzzle, and grab essential resources through this guide.

The Rust Power Plant Monument: An Overview

Rust Power Plant Monument Note: Image courtesy of 1UPTips. The Power Plant in Rust is a towering monument to this world’s abandoned industry. Its massive foundation and skeletal catwalks dare players to probe its depths, rewarding anyone who’s brave and curious enough. Although the area isn’t as dangerous as other monuments, the Power Plant and its challenges can become knowledge checks in hazard management. Travel deep, and loot containers filled with various resources, including ammunition, Diesel Fuel, and the coveted Red Keycard. Unprepared players who wish to complete this monument using run-and-gun strategies often find themselves at the receiving end of blades and bullets. However, successfully navigating and surviving this zone offers opportunities for resource-gathering and strategic enemy assessment. It’s also worth mentioning that the Power Plant’s vastness makes it difficult to focus on the puzzle and the loot at the same time. So, players, especially those in fairly small Rust clans, should choose their moves wisely before entering the monument. Although it’s still possible to complete both objectives, wasting substantial resources might not be avoided.

Rust Power Plant Monument Puzzle Solution

Rust Power Plant Monument Puzzle Note: Image courtesy of 1UPTips. Taking on the puzzle in the Power Plant in Rust requires the following items: 1x Green Keycard, 1x Blue Keycard, and 1x Electric Fuse. The monument is irradiated, but players can mitigate the affliction by having at least 25% radiation protection or wearing a Hazmat suit. With the preparations completed, travel to the three-storey building at the corner of the Power Plant. Head inside and flip the switch. Next, search for and run toward the building with the slanted roof. Again, head inside, and then activate the switch and the timer. Since the timer is now running, rush to the Green Keycard building at the center of the monument. Enter it, and loot the crates from within, but don’t forget to activate another switch while you’re inside. While inside the same building, take two flights of stairs to reach the Blue Keycard room. Place the Electric Fuse in the nearby fuse box, and use the Blue Keycard to access the room. Once opened, loot the Red Keycard and the other items in the crates.

Power Plant Crate Locations

Nonetheless, it’s still possible to create a looting run based on each container's location. With that, you’ll find the location of the different crates in this monument below:
  • Train Station: three crates in the train outside the establishment
  • Puzzle Area: six crates in total, locked behind keycard rooms
  • Crumbled Reactor: two crates
  • Full Reactor: two crates
  • Refinery Room: two crates and a Recycler
