A new month means it's time once again for the forced server wipe in Rust. This time around, the Rust July 2026 wipe includes the Common Ground update. This includes new features such as rentable shops, the apartment complex, a new clan system, and plenty of bug fixes and quality-of-life updates. Want to know what to expect and when the wipe hits? Take a look below for the biggest Rust July wipe news!

Rust July 2026 Wipe Date

Rust July Wipe 2026 As of July 2, 2026, at 2PM EDT, the Rusty July wipe has gone live! As usual, this Rust wipe resets the entire map and all players' blueprints. That makes it a fantastic time to jump in, start over fresh, and take a look at all of the new bells and whistles that the Common Ground update has to offer.

What’s New in the Rust July 2026 Wipe?

As always, this server wipe is paired with a new content-rich update. As mentioned above, this month's update is called Common Ground. With it, there have been plenty of new gameplay system additions. Including some that will make this particular wipe more accessible to new players than ever before!
The Apartment Complex
So the wipe has arrived, and your base has been destroyed along with it. It takes some time to gather the necessary materials to create a new one. But now, with the Apartment Complex, you won't have to huddle in the woods while your base is built! This new monument allows players to have a simple home right after a wipe. Head to the Apartment Complex, talk with the receptionist, and you can select an apartment that fits your budget. Something small or even a penthouse if you can afford it. Each room comes with different perks such as storage, furnaces, and more. Just be aware that you need to place some scrap in the slot next to your rented room. If you don't, you will be evicted and will forfeit all possessions stored in the room. Lovely! Of course, there's also a master key hidden on the island that will grant you access to any occupied room. Find it, and treat yourself to someone else's hard work!
Rentable Shops
Next to the Apartment Complex, there is also a small marketplace. These rentable shops can be purchased by players and allow them to sell their hard-earned loot to others. You'll need plenty of scrap to rent the store, but it takes money to make money. Once your store is open for business, you can modify sale prices, adjust your stock, and even give the shop a personal touch with some limited customization options. Again, be aware that the elusive master key can be used to swindle shop owners, too. It will grant you access to a store and all its goods.
Increased Resource Gathering
A monthly wipe might make starting over feel like a huge task. While there's still plenty to do, now you can get things done a whole lot quicker. Resource gathering now has a two-times multiplier on it to give you twice as much ore, wood, food, and animal loot.
Raid Windows
There are now pre-defined time windows for when players can raid one another. This is to make things a little easier on more casual players who might not be ready for a raid at all times. By default, raids can only occur between 6PM and 9PM in your local time. When it's raid time, it's Rust chaos and carnage as usual. When it isn't raid time, building blocks and doors cannot be raided. Meanwhile, deployables are still fair game.
Clan System
Rust has allowed players to form and join teams, but the new clan system is a more advanced iteration. This allows you to have more members, designated roles, and more. To make and manage your clan, you'll have to use a Clan Table. Keep in mind that clans are disabled when you're playing in hardcore mode.
Improved Animations
The developers are continuing to use new animation tools to bring new levels of detail to the game. This month, animations for sprinting with rifles and wielding one-handed weapons have been added. These are all to make the characters look less robotic and improve overall immersion as you're running around.
Much, Much More!
We've only scratched the surface of everything coming in the Common Ground update. There is a new Glowing Wallpaper pack, adjustments to footstep frequency, a new player model when looking at your inventory, and much more. You can read about every little detail on the official Rust site.
