A common question asked by new members of the Rust community is, “Wen wipe?” After all, Rust promotes fairness by resetting everyone’s progress, allowing all players a fresh start. But when will this reset happen? Keep reading to learn the Rust wipe schedule for 2026.

When is the Rust Force Wipe in 2026?

Rust 2026 Server Wipe Schedule Like the force wipe schedule of previous years, expect the 2026 global Rust server reset to occur on the first or last Thursday of the month. Since the first wipe of the year happened in the first week, it’s reasonably safe to assume that this trend should follow suit for the rest of the year. With that, the 2026 Rust wipe schedule for PC (Steam) is as follows:
  • January 1, 2026
  • February 5, 2026
  • March 5, 2026
  • April 2, 2026
  • May 7, 2026
  • June 4, 2026
  • July 2, 2026
  • August 6, 2026
  • September 3, 2026
  • October 1, 2026
  • November 5, 2026
  • December 3, 2026
The 2026 Rust forced server wipe should also happen between 7 PM and 11 PM (GMT). This monthly reset typically erases all data, which includes character progression. However, the affected data often depends on the server’s settings. For instance, some servers may only refresh map data. If so, all monuments and their loot reset. However, blueprints, including those added in recent updates, might remain untouched. On the other hand, some dedicated Rust servers may opt for blueprint wipes. If so, most server data remains untouched, but blueprints are refreshed. That means that players must reacquire these schematics to use them again. It’s also possible for the developers to trigger a force wipe, which doesn’t follow the regular reset schedule. Despite the general abruptness of these events, they’re likely only to affect official and community servers. Additionally, forced wipes are oftentimes only map wipes, allowing players to keep most of their progress until the next complete server reset. Some servers may also impose weekly or bi-weekly wipes. Contact your server administrators to check the schedule of your server's reset schedule to prepare accordingly.
