Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part 2 Release Date: Beta, Content & More

Posted on by bisecthosting

Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part 1 has finally arrived after months of players waiting for it. Since the update was split into two parts however, there’s still some awesome new things to come!

Here’s what we know so far about the Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part 2 release date, content, and more.

Caves and Cliffs Part 2 Release Date

Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part 1 launched on all platforms on Tuesday, June 8, but there will be some time before Part 2 arrives.

The current Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part 2 release date window is the holiday season. This should put its launch on or around Tuesday, December 21.

With Caves and Cliffs receiving a ton of pre-launch development time and releases with demos, a beta, and pre release updates, we can expect the same for Part 2.

The Caves and Cliffs Part 2 beta phase will likely kick off around mid-August, giving players plenty of time to try out the changes as they’re slowly phased in, and giving the developers more to work on with feedback and testing.

Caves and Cliffs Part 2 Content

Minecraft Caves and Cliffs was set to be the biggest update in the game’s history, so it’s no surprise that each of its two parts are also massive now that it’s been split into two updates!

Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part 1 centered around the easier features to develop to limit crunch time at Mojang. That led to the update releasing many Minecraft Caves and Cliffs mobs, blocks, and items.

Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part 2, however, will focus on the more in-depth features that make structural changes. This will include cave generation changes, mountain generation changes, new subterranean biomes, game systems (Sculk), and the infamous Warden mob.

What’s Coming Next?

Minecraft moved the massive Nether update quickly into Caves and Cliffs. We can only expect this to continue with Mojang’s next step.

This leaves us expecting another massive Minecraft update in 2022 that could rival both the Nether update and the Caves and Cliffs update (before its split) as the next biggest update in the game’s history.
