How to Find Tortuga

First things first: how to find Tortuga in the vast and unknowable seas of Windrose. Unfortunately, there's no one specific location for Tortuga, thanks to Windrose being procedurally generated. However, there is still a quick way to put this pirate port on your map so you can get to trading! When you begin a Windrose save file for the first time, you'll be handed a tutorial quest called How My Shore Adventure Began. This teaches you how to eat, fight, build a ship, assemble a crew, and take down a boss. Once you're finished with this quest, you'll receive another tutorial quest titled How My Sea Adventure Began. This will set you out to sea on your very own pirate vessel. The final step of this quest will also place a large map marker at Tortuga's exact location.

Tortuga Vendors: Item Inventories & Faction Rep Requirements

Now, once you arrive on Tortuga, you'll find a few special vendors. If you aren't already familiar with the various Windrose Factions, you will be after you've completed plenty more pirate adventures. There are currently four different factions to meet and increase your reputation with in Windrose: the People of Tortuga, Rogue Buccaneers, Brethren of the Coast, and Smugglers of Port Royal. Each faction has a Provisioner merchant on the Isle of Tortuga. These specialized merchants sell decorations, armor and weapon crafting recipes, ship customizations, and much more. Yet, the only way to get any of this is if you're the appropriate rank with a specific faction. To increase your rank with a faction, you'll need to hand in Letters of Favor from completed quests or Insignias from defeated pirates to a faction Bounty Agent. Luckily, these can always be found next to the Provisioner of the same faction. With enough reputation, you'll unlock more and more of each Provisioner's stock. However, you still have to hand over either Piastre or Guineas for your rewards. Additionally, each faction also has a Buyer and Trade Goods Merchant. However, these vendors are not located in Tortuga. They will only appear at each faction's specific headquarters. So, if you're looking to sell some goods, Tortuga isn't the port you're looking for.
