Hoist the colors and gather your favorite pirate crew. It's almost time to jump into the Windrose Early Access release! Following its February 2026 demo, Windrose set the Steam charts on fire and has crossed over 1.5 million wishlists! Want to know when you and your friends can set sail on a dedicated server? Windrose Early Access Release Date

We don't have to wait much longer to start some swashbuckling adventures. The Windrose early access release date and time will land on April 14 at 4am EDT.  It will be playable on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. When it arrives, you'll have the following two options for purchase:

• Windrose Supporter Bundle
  • Price: $39.99 USD

    • The base game for Windrose.
    • The official Windrose soundtrack.

When the game does release in 1.0, it will cost more than the options listed above. However, if you purchase the game while it is in Early Access, you will receive the update to 1.0 at no extra cost.

What Will be in Windrose Early Access?

According to the development team, Windrose Crew, the full game is still anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 years away. The reason for this is that "Windrose is a big, complex game." As a result, there is still loads of work to be done in getting the game to its finished state. Thanks to an Early Access release, however, the developers plan to implement player feedback and build the game alongside its community. Players have been able to enjoy the high-tide exploration and plundering action of Windrose for several months in the form of its demo. In Early Access, much more content will be available. Players can expect more gear, more customization options, more options when trading with factions, greater freedom when exploring the world, and much more. However, you might want to jump into the demo before Early Access arrives to claim an exclusive in-game spyglass. For the Early Access release, the developers have stated that roughly 50-70 hours of gameplay will be required to complete the available story content. There will be three different biomes to explore, and each will have unique main and side quests. Alongside three playable ships, naval combat, a building system, more than 90 hand-crafted points of interest, bosses, factions, and updates planned for the future, the Early Access period for Windrose promises to have plenty of content for plundering pirates to enjoy.
