Windrose Farming Guide: How to Plant, Best Seeds, & More
Posted on by
It can be tiring to frequently send Blackbeard’s crew to Davy Jones’s locker. Instead, some players may want peace after the fighting, and the farming life can be a good call (especially if you need some food to refresh your buffs). Although fairly straightforward, farming in Windrose still has some requirements. So, keep reading this guide to learn how to plant smarter and which crops are best for your time and effort.
Like other survival titles, Windrose demands certain requirements for players to take advantage of its farming system. With that, some seeds can be directly planted into the ground while others require seedbeds.
Shrub and Banana Seeds are examples of ground plants. Smaller plants, such as Flax and Tomato, need seedbeds to grow. Craft a Seedbed using 5x Fertile Soil, a resource commonly found in Ancient Farms around the Foothills. It also means that players who are serious about farming in Windrose must first defeat the Coastal Jungle boss, Thomas Richards, before they can access the Foothills biome.
Thankfully, the farming system in Windrose isn’t as intricate as other titles with sandbox and survival mechanics. In particular, pirate captains need only place the seed in the ground or seedbed and wait. It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes in real time for a seed to mature into a harvestable plant.
Note: Crops don’t stop growing even after logging out. Players in Windrose dedicated servers would do well to take advantage of this feature to ensure a full harvest is ready upon logging back into the game.
16 plantable seeds are available in Windrose as of the Early Access release. These options are as follows:
