Similar to games like 7 Days to Die, your main objective in Rust is survival, but it doesn’t mean you can't enjoy all the time between taking on its many hazards. One way to escape the dangers of Rust is to play the Acoustic Guitar in it. And unlike other games where instruments play themselves, you'll have all the opportunity to play the guitar your own way and make up your own tunes! Here's how to play the guitar in Rust and some popular song tabs to get you started in the right direction.

How to Play the Guitar in Rust

Each note on the Guitar in Rust corresponds with the numbers 1 through 7 of your keyboard’s numpad. Note that using the digits on your keyboard’s number row won’t work, only the numpad. But players can utilize macros or a program to emulate a numpad if their keyboard doesn’t have one. Note: Press “R” to enter Full Keyboard Mode, allowing you to use the entire keyboard to play the Acoustic Guitar. Moving forward, each number represents a guitar’s basic notes from C to B. Number 1 is C, Number 2 is D, and the list continues until you reach Number 7. Pressing any number from 1 to 7 on a keyboard’s numpad will play that note on the in-game Acoustic Guitar. But you can also hold the “+” button next to the numpad and a number to play that note’s sharp variant. Press and hold the “Enter” key to play a higher octave. Tip: Select “Instruments” under the Controls settings menu to change how you play the Guitar in Rust.
