How to Get Plasteel in RimWorld

The most straightforward way to acquire Plasteel is to mine it. However, as the toughest material in the game, it's much harder to mine than average Steel. Nevertheless, you can harvest some Plasteel early in the game if you're lucky enough to find a Plasteel node. However, these deposits are hard to come by, and you need a miner with incredibly strong traits. You can always try to nab some Plasteel by bartering with Mining Goods Caravans, Exotic Caravans, or through a Comms Console, but this isn't the easiest solution when starting. They are good resources to keep in mind as you continue playing! You never know when you'll find a great deal on a helping of Plasteel. While it might sound inconvenient, we don't recommend spending your early hours of a RimWorld playthrough hunting for Plasteel. Instead, it's best to focus on the game's tech tree until you can acquire two things:

• Ground-Penetrating Scanner: 150x Steel, 4x Components, & 1x Advanced Component

With these, you can easily identify, locate, and extract chunks of Plasteel buried beneath the planet's surface. Of course, these bits of technology will take some time to acquire.
