Palworld World Tree Guide: How to Unlock, Materials, & More
Posted on by
Now that Palworld 1.0 has arrived, players can finally visit that enormous tree that's been sitting far to the northwest. Otherwise known as the World Tree, this massive plant actually contains an entire new biome. However, the World Tree isn't open for exploration right away. It's an endgame activity that you need to unlock first, making it perfect for a group of players pushing the game's progression on a Palworld dedicated server. Take a look below, and we'll tell you exactly how to unlock the World Tree in Palworld and what awaits you on the inside!
If you approach the World Tree in Palworld, you'll see that it's protected by an enormous energy barrier. To get past this, you must head to the tiny Deserted Islet near the coordinates (-814, -824). On this minuscule scrap of land, you'll find an NPC with a large hat and an even larger backpack. Speak with them, and you'll receive the Panthalus main quest and a special schematic for the Echoing Flute.
For this quest, you'll have to travel across the entire map to visit four different locations. If you track the quest, these four locations will be automatically marked on your map. At each of these spots, you'll find large skeletons of ancient whales. You must locate and collect an Echobone at each of these sites, then head to your base. Once there, use a Workbench to bring your four Echobones together and create the Echoing Flute.
With the flute fully assembled, return to the NPC on the Deserted Islet. Speak with them, and the large shrine tablet nearby will become interactable. Touch it, and you will be transported to a boss fight with the massive new Pal known as Panthalus. Despite its enormity and huge amount of health, this won't be a particularly hard fight if you're a high-level character at this stage of the game.
The primary method of attack for Panthalus is sending out waves. Jump or use a flying pal to get over these, and simply chip away at the beast's health. When its health is low enough or completely depleted, catch the Panthalus. With it safe inside a Pal Sphere, return once more to the NPC, and you'll have the quest completed. Then, you'll receive a new main quest called To the World Tree.
Your journey is almost over! Head all the way to the World Tree, and interact with the locked Terminal that sits in front of the barrier. This will cause the barrier to disappear, and you can now enter the true endgame of Palworld 1.0!
Within the World Tree itself, you'll find a variety of new biomes, among the most exciting additions in the Palworld 1.0 update. Some you can explore freely, but others feature radiation zones that require Gas Mask helmets. Naturally, this new endgame zone is also crawling with high-level Pals. If you and your team aren't well-equipped, you might find yourself being wholloped by the locals. Luckily, there are a few areas scattered throughout the World Tree called Teafant Springs. Interact with these tiny stone fountains, and you'll have your entire party's health restored.
Finally, there are some brand new items to pick up and use in the World Tree:
Some of these new materials are necessary for crafting new gear like the Wing Pack, but getting them is tricky. You'll notice if you try to pick up materials that drop from ore or harvested trees in the World Tree that these materials will disappear when you approach them. To actually collect them, you need to use the new consumable World Tree Holy Water. This will give you a passive for a short time that allows you to collect these materials.
To find World Tree Holy Water, you need to farm mobs that live in the World Tree. They'll occasionally drop the stuff, and you can then use it for item harvesting. This isn't the best method, however, as farming consumables can take time.
While it might not happen right away, you can also find a Pal with the passive skill Dimensional Leap. With this, you receive the following passives:
