Palworld Fishing Guide: How to Fish, Baits, Rods, & More
Posted on by
It's time to flex your casting arm, as fishing is now in Palworld through the Tides of Terraria Update. Catch new Pals through this mechanic, including Jelliette and Jellroy. So, here’s our fishing guide to help you become a master angler in Palworld.
Pal trainers must first complete various requirements to use the fishing mechanic in Palworld, such as crafting rods and baits. Also, finding the right spot and initiating a minigame upon a bite is essential to successfully reeling in Water Pals.
After crafting a fishing rod and some baits, it’s time to catch Water Pals in Palworld! Start by looking for Water-type Pals swimming in the water. Note that those flying above the water, such as Celaray, can only be caught through normal means, i.e., throwing a Pal Sphere at them.
Once you see some Water Pals swimming, equip your fishing rod and select the bait you want to use through the middle scroll wheel on your mouse (by default for mouse and keyboard users on the PC). Then, press the left mouse button (by default for mouse and keyboard users on the PC) to cast the line.
Note: Casting the fishing line in empty waters yields nothing.
Remember, you must search for a location in the water where the crosshair turns bluish-green. Otherwise, the game prevents you from performing the cast.
Cast the fishing line once you're ready, and wait for the Water Pal to "bite." You'll know when there's a catch when two exclamation points ("!!") appear on the screen. If so, press the left mouse button again to start the Palworld fishing minigame.
Here, press and hold the left mouse button to move the bar to the left, while releasing it will move it to the right. The point of this minigame is to align the bar and the fish marker until the gauge at the top fills up, catching the Water Pal.
It’s also possible to fish in deep waters, as long as you’re riding a Water Pal. Some notable examples include Surfent, Azurobe, and Jormuntide.
