Any industrious miner in Core Keeper knows that there's more to life than doing all of the work yourself. Sure, you'll have to gather plenty of materials, stomp some bosses, and unlock some fancy gear first. But, in time, you and your crew can turn to the power of Core Keeper automation to have all of the manual labor done for you. Below, we'll walk you through the basics and give a few ideas on how you can start your own industrial revolution!

Core Keeper Automation Basics

Core Keeper Automation example To automate in Core Keeper, you're going to need heaps of materials. Copper Bars, Tin Bars, Scarlet Bars, Drills, Conveyor Belts, Electricity Sticks, Cross Circuits, and plenty more. Most of these won't be available to you right away, so automation won't come quickly. Over time, however, you'll be able to cut out plenty of extra work and gather more resources more efficiently.

Automation Table Devices

To make an Automation Table, you'll need 5 Copper Bars and 8 Tin Bars at a Tin Workbench. The items you can then craft at an Automation Table are the primary pieces you'll need to get things going. Conveyor Belts and Robot Arms to move items, Sprinklers to water crops, and Drills to hack away at ore deposits. Of course, you can also get creative with each piece and see what creations you can create on your own.
  • Conveyor Belt: 5
    • Tin Bar: 2
  • Crude Drill
    • Tin Bar: 8
  • Drill
    • Iron Bar: 10
    • Scarlet Bar: 10
  • Robot Arm

Electronic Table Devices

To create an Electronic Table, you'll need 8 pieces of Wood and 8 Copper Bars at a Copper Workbench. Once it's made, you can create everything you need to power your automated hopes and dreams. While our build suggestions below will tell you how to power your creations, you can really take advantage of the game's more advanced electrical systems with the use of real-life logic circuits such as NOT, AND, XOR, NAND, & more. Naturally, you'll need power to get the creations from your Automation Table to work. To power your build, the most important element is an Electricity Generator. Keep in mind that an Electrical Generator only powers machines placed within a 25-tile radius. To power anything further away, you must use Electrical Wires. Luckily, you can hide these wires beneath floor tiles so that you don't clutter your area with a wired mess. However, even Electrical Wires will lose some power the further they are from a connected Electricity Generator. That means for bigger automated builds, you must create multiple Electricity Generators.

  • Delay Circuit
    • Copper Bar: 2
  • Electrical Door
    • Iron Bar: 5

Automating Farming

Core Keeper Automation example One of the most important routines to stay afloat in Core Keeper is farming. A steady supply of greenery can give you food or wood for buffs and building materials. First, map out your preferred farmland and plant crops. In the center of each crop, place a Sprinkler made from the Automation Table. This handy gadget will keep everything within a 5x5 grid watered without any electricity or connections required. Next, as shown in the image above, you'll place a Robot Arm above each planted crop. Once your crop is ready for harvest, the Robot Arms should pluck it and place the harvest immediately behind it. Again, as you can see above, you'll want to place a system of Conveyor Belts immediately behind each Robot Arm to take the freshly-picked crop away. To ensure your crops are sorted into a safe storage space, you'll also need Robot Arms at the end of your Conveyor Belt system to place the crops into a Chest. Since farming can take up a lot of space, you'll likely need more than one Electricity Generator to power your entire build. Of course, depending on the size of your farm, you could also power each machine with Electrical Wires from fewer generators. Luckily, the system for automating in Core Keeper is simple and flexible enough for you to create a grid-based farming system that works for you! Keep in mind, however, that when you create an automated farming system, you won't gain XP from farming. You'll still need to farm by hand if you're after Gardening Talents.

Automating Ore Collection

Core Keeper Ore Mining Automation screenshot Setting up an automated ore system can significantly reduce the time you spend hacking away at valuable minerals. Like the image above, you'll want to find a suitable source of ore and surround it with the following:
  • 6-8 Drills
  • Conveyor Belts
  • 2 Robot Arms
  • A Furnace
  • A Chest
  • An Electricity Generator
First, surround the ore with Drills. If you want, you can also place down some lights if you're in a dimly lit area. Next, ensure each drill is immediately touching a Conveyor Belt with its back. The idea is to have all of the Conveyor Belts feed toward one of the Robot Arms. This Robot Arm will be positioned to drop the freshly harvested ore from the belts into the Furnace. To do this, have the Robot Arm placed facing the Conveyor Belt with its back toward the Furnace. The second Robot Arm can then be positioned with its claw facing the Furnace and its back facing a Chest. As a result, you'll have freshly smelted ingots placed directly into a Chest without any additional work. The compact nature of this build makes it perfect for use with a single Electricity Generator, which powers all devices without any additional electrical wiring. Finally, like the farming build, you won't gain Mining XP from automating. You must do things the old-fashioned way with a pickaxe and elbow grease to increase your Mining Talents.
