While it might not be a weapon name you've heard all the time, an atgeir, or polearm, is a great blade for long-range smackdowns in the bitter cold world of Valheim. With the arrival of Valheim 1.0, there are eight different atgeirs to choose from. Of course, you can collect each one and add them to your armory of long-range blades. Valheim Atgeirs Guide - All Polearm Stats, Crafting Recipes, & More

Unlike some other two-handed weapons in Valheim like the greataxe, atgeirs and polearms don't weigh as much. As a result, they don't give you nearly as much of a movement penalty. When you're swinging a polearm, you'll have a three-hit combo chain. The last hit of this chain deals twice as much damage as the first two. The secondary attack with a polearm sweeps the area around you in a circle. This hit will stagger everything it touches with six times more potency than a normal hit.
