5 Best Builds for V Rising Update 1.1 & Beyond

First, it's important to mention that the following builds won't cover the best weapons in V Rising since it's typically ideal to aim for the legendary variant for each weapon type. Additionally, the best builds in V Rising are based on various factors, such as combat flexibility and overall damage. Nonetheless, these builds only serve as guides and shouldn’t derail each player’s build preferences. They are also fully tweakable if you want to shake things up!

Versatile Vampire

V Rising Longbow Build
  • Primary Weapons: Longbow and Slashers
  • Abilities: Veil of Storm, Chaos Volley, Mist Trance, and Raging Tempest
  • Blood Type: Rogue
V Rising Longbow Build Abilities Touted as one of the best builds since the full release of V Rising, you’ll take advantage of long- and short-range attacks with the longbow and slashers. However, the longbow will be your primary damage dealer, while the slashers are nice to have when the enemy gets up close and personal. As for the abilities, Veil of Storm synergizes well with the longbow, for it can boost arrow charge time. Then, use Chaos Volley if enemies surround you. Finally, Raging Tempest grants immunity frames, allowing you to deal good single-target damage while staying protected from enemy attacks. However, this build generally works better against 1-on-1 fights. So, some players might have trouble using this build against bosses that spawn minions.

The Berserker

V Rising Berserker Build
  • Primary Weapons: Axes
  • Abilities: Veil of Blood, Blood Rage, Chaos Volley, and Arctic Leap
  • Blood Type: Brute
V Rising Berserker Build Abilities Plow through enemies from the beginning of the game until you defeat Dracula (and beyond) with the berserker build. Known as one of the best builds in V Rising since its Early Access release, being a berserker lets you dual-wield axes and cast certain abilities that help deal with as much damage to your enemies as possible. As a bonus, you deal 25% more damage to trees and foliage, allowing you to gather resources like wood and fibre faster than usual. As for this build’s skills, use Blood Rage to shield yourself against powerful enemy attacks while giving yourself a boost in attack speed. If you’re low on health, use Veil of Blood to damage one enemy while restoring some of your health. Last, cast Arctic Leap to deal massive damage while freezing enemies in place, opening them for more attacks from your axes.

Aggressive Wolverine

V Rising Claw Build
  • Primary Weapons: Claws
  • Abilities: Blood Dash, Soulburn, Blood Rite, and Heartstrike
  • Blood Type: Brute or Rogue
V Rising Claw Build Abilities If being offensive is your preferred playstyle, then perhaps this claw build in V Rising is your forte. The dual-wielded claws are one of the new weapon types in the Invaders of Oakveil Update, and it can whet the appetite of any vampire that’s out for blood. Equip the claws, and take advantage of its fast combos to deal maximum damage. Then, use abilities like Veil of Blood and Blood Rite to deal damage while ensuring your health doesn’t fall to critical levels. However, like the longbow + slashers build mentioned earlier, this claw build is generally ideal for 1-on-1 fights. So, ensure that you’re not up against a large group of enemies to prevent getting surrounded.

Frost Storm Twinblade

V Rising Twinblade Build
  • Primary Weapons: Twinblade and Daggers
  • Abilities: Veil of Storm, Ball Lightning, Cold Snap, and Arctic Leap
  • Blood Type: Warrior or Rogue
V Rising Twinblade Abilities Joining the claws are the twinblade and throwing daggers, which are the new weapons introduced in V Rising Update 1.1. The twinblade can be the ideal weapon for those who like to move around a lot on the battlefield. Additionally, use the Veil of Storm and Ball Lightning abilities to remain mobile while dishing out as much damage to opponents as possible. Then, use Cold Snap and Arctic Leap to freeze enemies that don’t seem to stay in one place. Switch to the throwing daggers and stay away from enemies if your skills are on cooldown to stay on the offensive while maintaining distance. However, vampires should be careful, as the twinblade’s attack animations don’t have invincibility frames or I-frames. This means that clashing with enemy attacks usually doesn't end in your favor, as you'll likely suffer some damage instead of evading the strike. It’s for this reason that some players may want to change builds when fighting against some powerful V Blood bosses, like Megara the Serpent Queen.

The Necromancer

V Rising Necromancer Build
  • Primary Weapons: Longbow
  • Abilities: Veil of Bones, Ward of the Damned, Death Knight, Army of the Dead
  • Blood Type: Rogue
V Rising Necromancer Build Abilities Unleash the unholy magic from within and summon dark hordes from the underworld to lay waste to your enemies with the necromancer build. Touted as one of the best builds in V Rising , it 1.1 prioritizes using unholy magic to summon minions to fight for you. It's also this reason why the longbow is the preferred weapon for this build and not the reaper, even though the latter is generally the better fit for the necromancer aesthetic. Moving forward, cast the Army of the Dead ability on large crowds, particularly for V Blood Carriers that spawn their own minions in the middle of the fight. Then, use Death Knight to summon a spectral warrior on 1v1 battles or fights with small groups. Nonetheless, players should always be aware of each ability’s cooldown. Otherwise, not having minions on the field makes you the next target for enemy attacks.
