V Rising offers a fantastic array of armor options for vampires, and the recent Invaders of Oakveil Update has introduced even more defensive gear to protect yourself in a pinch. We understand how important it is to find the right equipment to fit your playstyle, especially when the choices can be overwhelming. Some armor sets provide better advantages, so we've created a tier list of the best V Rising armors in Update 1.1 to help you select the gear that will best support your journey!

Best Armor Sets in V Rising Update 1.1

V Rising Best Armors Update 1-1 Before proceeding, this V Rising Update 1.1. Armors Tier List serves as a helpful guide to beginner and veteran vampires alike. Each item offers insights, pros, and cons as to why they're included in the list. Ultimately, your chosen armor should align with your unique playstyle, current needs, and strategic preferences. Don't let this ranked list of the best armor sets in V Rising deter you from enjoying the game your way.

Hollowfang

V Rising Hollowfang
  • How to Unlock: Defeat Quincey the Bandit King.
  • Gear Level: 5
  • Durability: 742
  • Set Bonus: +373 to max health.
  • How to Craft: Use 12x Cotton Yarn and 8x Wool Thread for each piece or 36x Cotton Yarn and 24x Wool Thread at the Tailoring Bench.
Note: A Tailoring Bench placed on a Tailor’s Floor reduces crafting material costs by 25%. Entering Act II in V Rising also signals vampires to ditch the bone-themed armor sets with stronger variants. Enter the Hollowfang armor set – a significant midgame upgrade that significantly boosts the player's survivability, thanks in part to its large health boost. Although still touted as one of the best armor sets in V Rising Update 1.1, it still has various shortcomings. For instance, the set bonus only provides a boost in health. That means the Hollowfang armor lacks combat stat bonuses found in other armors, even when compared to the Marauder armor set upgrades.

Dawnthorn

V Rising Dawnthorn
  • How to Unlock: Defeat Angram the Purifier.
  • Gear Level: 7
  • Durability: 1,119
  • Set Bonus: +580 to max health, +8% movement speed increase (equip two pieces), and +1 Gear Level (equip four pieces).
  • How to Craft: Use 12x Pristine Leather and 8x Silk for each piece or 36x Cotton Yarn and 24x Wool Thread at the Tailoring Bench.
Note: A Tailoring Bench placed on a Tailor’s Floor reduces crafting material costs by 25%. Act III in V Rising can be unforgiving without the appropriate defenses. Thankfully, the Dawnthorn armor set is your entryway to becoming a sturdier vampire in Vardoran. Equipping each component of the Dawnthorn armor set offers a more significant boost to maximum health than the Hollowfang. Additionally, it provides enhanced survivability by improving the wearer’s movement speed, making it a great choice for agile builds. However, this armor set doesn’t offer offensive benefits, such as increasing the wearer’s overall damage output. Nonetheless, this late-game armor is still invaluable for tackling many V Blood Carriers in Act III.

Dark Magus

V Rising Dark Magus
  • How to Unlock: Purchase the blueprints from the Rural Book Merchant for 48x Silver Coin. Alternatively, defeat Bane the Shadowblade, Octavian the Militia Captain, or Angram the Purifier for a chance to receive a component blueprint.
  • Gear Level: 6
  • Durability: 914
  • Set Bonus: +473 to max health, +3.6% spell power, +10% increase spell critical strike chance (equip two pieces), +1 Gear Level (equip three pieces), and +6% spell leech (equip four pieces).
  • How to Craft: Use the appropriate Hollowfang armor piece, along with 4x Iron Ingot and 8x Thick Leather (per component) at the Tailoring Bench.
Note: A Tailoring Bench placed on a Tailor’s Floor reduces crafting material costs by 25%. Vampire mages rejoice with the Dark Magus armor. This armor set focuses on enhancing one’s spellcasting prowess, decimating opponents with powered-up spells. In particular, equipping four Dark Magus armor pieces unlocks its spell leech ability, improving the wearer’s survivability. Additionally, spellcasting builds can’t go wrong with the additional +3.6% boost in spell power. However, this magic-focused armor set means that there’s a clear lack of physical damage enhancements. Although the Dark Magus is still one of the best armors in V Rising Update 1.1, it’s not as versatile as other options in this tier list.

Blood Hunter

V Rising Blood Hunter
  • How to Unlock: Purchase the blueprints from the Rural Book Merchant for 48x Silver Coin. Alternatively, defeat Bane the Shadowblade, Octavian the Militia Captain, or Angram the Purifier for a chance to receive a component blueprint.
  • Gear Level: 6
  • Durability: 914
  • Set Bonus: +473 to max health, +2.4% physical power, +10% increase weapon cooldown recovery rate (equip two pieces), +1 Gear Level (equip three pieces), and +5% damage reduction (equip four pieces).
The Blood Hunter is the cousin of the Dark Magus armor set. However, it focuses on physical damage instead of flinging spells. In particular, equipping all components boosts the wearer’s physical power, weapon cooldown recovery rate, and damage reduction. Despite its physical-focused benefits, the Blood Hunter shares the same issue with its magic-centered variant. Since this armor heavily concentrates on the wearer dealing physical damage, using abilities with this set leaves much to be desired.

Dread Plate

V Rising Dread Plate
  • How to Unlock: Research the blueprints at the Athenaeum. Alternatively, purchase the blueprints from the City Book Vendor for 160x Goldsun Coin.
  • Gear Level: 8
  • Durability: 1,359
  • Set Bonus: +694 to max health, +3.2% spell power, +4% damage reduction, +15% healing received and +10% damage absorption from shields (equip two pieces), +8% weapon cooldown recovery rate (equip three pieces), and +1 Gear Level (equip four pieces).
  • How to Craft: Use the appropriate Dawnthorn armor piece, along with 8x Ghost Yarn and 1x Primal Blood Essence (per component) at the Tailoring Bench.
Note: A Tailoring Bench placed on a Tailor’s Floor reduces crafting material costs by 25%. Crafted from Ghost Yarn and Primal Blood Essence, the Dread Plate armor set offers significant boosts to the wearer’s survivability. This armor is ideal for those who want to tank hits from V Blood Carriers and laugh at their faces. But vampires be warned, as the Dread Plate armor set doesn’t supply the wearer with improvements to mobility. Additionally, it lacks advantages to improving spell damage. Still, this armor set holds a lot of potential in many PvE and PvP combat scenarios.

Dracula’s Dread

V Rising Dracula's Dread
  • How to Unlock: Defeat Dracula the Immortal King, Adam the Firstborn, Solarus the Immaculate, and Talzur the Winged Horror to get all blueprints of the set.
  • Gear Level: 9
  • Durability: 1,359
  • Set Bonus: +812 to max health, +4% physical power, +4.8% damage reduction, +10% increase weapon cooldown recovery rate (equip two pieces), +20% healing received (equip three pieces), +12% damage absorbed by shields (equip three pieces), and +30% damage from veil attacks (equip four pieces).
  • How to Craft: Use the appropriate Dread Plate armor piece, along with 12x Shadow Weave and 12x Bat Leather (per component) at the Tailoring Bench.
Note: A Tailoring Bench placed on a Tailor’s Floor reduces crafting material costs by 25%. Hailed as one of the apex armor sets in V Rising Update 1.1, Dracula’s Dread is obtainable only after defeating the Lord of Darkness himself. Each piece provides an unparalleled Gear Level, improving the wearer's defense to grand heights. However, the difficulty in acquiring each armor piece might put off some players. Nonetheless, equipping all armor pieces, enjoying the combat and survivability advantages, and making a mess out of different V Blood Carriers with it are going to be more than worth the difficulties faced.

Maleficer Scholar

V Rising Maleficer Scholar
  • How to Unlock: Research the blueprints at the Athenaeum. Alternatively, purchase the blueprints from the City Book Vendor for 160x Goldsun Coin.
  • Gear Level: 8
  • Durability: 1,359
  • Set Bonus: +694 to max health, +4% spell power, +12% spell critical strike chance, +8% increase spell cooldown recovery rate (equip two pieces), +6% spell leech (equip three pieces), and +1 Gear Level (equip four pieces).
Vampires staying true to their spellcasting roots will find the Maleficer Scholar armor set to bring peak ability-using goodness. This endgame magical armor focuses on enhancing one’s spellcasting prowess by boosting spell power, spell critical strike chance, and spell cooldown recovery rate. But like its ability-focused predecessors, the Maleficer Scholar armor set offers minimal benefits to physical combat, if any. Additionally, crafting each piece demands farming the rare resource Ghost Yarn.

Shadowmoon

V Rising Shadowmoon
  • How to Unlock: Research the blueprints at the Athenaeum. Alternatively, purchase the blueprints from the City Book Vendor for 160x Goldsun Coin.
  • Gear Level: 8
  • Durability: 1,359
  • Set Bonus: +694 to max health, +16% physical critical strike chance, +6% movement speed, +8% primary attack leech (equip two pieces), +20% physical critical strike power (equip three pieces), and +1 Gear Level (equip four pieces).
The Shadowmoon armor set is a top-tier option known for boosting the wearer’s mobility and overall physical damage output. Equipping all components offers a notable increase in physical critical strike chance and power, allowing vampires to deal explosive damage to enemies. Still, it’s important to mention the set’s shortcomings. For instance, it lacks benefits for ability and tank-oriented builds. So, the Shadowmoon armor set might not be ideal for builds that heavily rely on spells or damage reduction. Nonetheless, pair this armor set with the right blood type, such as Rogue blood, and watch as the damage numbers you inflict jump out of the screen.

Dracula’s Grim

V Rising Dracula's Grim
  • How to Unlock: Defeat Dracula the Immortal King, Adam the Firstborn, Solarus the Immaculate, and Talzur the Winged Horror to get all blueprints of the set.
  • Gear Level: 9
  • Durability: 1,359
  • Set Bonus: +812 to max health, +20% weapon attack speed, +12% weapon skill leech, +1.8% physical and spell power (equip two pieces), +130 max health (equip three pieces), +2% heal when using veil attacks and +10% attack speed after using a veil attack (equip four pieces).
  • How to Craft: Use the appropriate Grim Knight armor piece, along with 12x Shadow Weave and 12x Bat Leather (per component) at the Tailoring Bench.
Note: A Tailoring Bench placed on a Tailor’s Floor reduces crafting material costs by 25%. Known as one of the best endgame armor sets in V Rising Update 1.1, Dracula's Grim provides the highest Gear Level to the player when worn. It’s a versatile armor set, boosting the equipper’s physical and spell prowess. Additionally, flaunting the entire set grants a significant boost to maximum health. However, like the other Dracula-themed armor sets, acquiring the blueprints to Dracula's Grim armor generally requires players to defeat the game's final boss. Nonetheless, equip all components, and watch yourself decimate all foes in Vardoran, human or otherwise.

Dracula’s Shadow

V Rising Dracula's Shadow
  • How to Unlock: Defeat Dracula the Immortal King, Adam the Firstborn, Solarus the Immaculate, and Talzur the Winged Horror to get all blueprints of the set.
  • Gear Level: 9
  • Durability: 1,359
  • Set Bonus: +812 to max health, +20% physical critical strike chance, +8% movement speed, +25% physical critical strike power (equip two pieces), +10% primary attack leech (equip three pieces), +15% physical critical strike chance and +10% movement speed for three seconds after using a veil attack (equip four pieces).
  • How to Craft: Use the appropriate Shadowmoon armor piece, along with 12x Shadow Weave and 12x Bat Leather (per component) at the Tailoring Bench.
Note: A Tailoring Bench placed on a Tailor’s Floor reduces crafting material costs by 25%. Arguably, one of the best V Rising armors, if not THE best, is Dracula’s Shadow. It's the pinnacle defensive gear in the game at the time of writing. Although it lacks spell-enhancing benefits, this armor set grants the equipper with massive boots to physical damage and critical strikes, making it a must-have for PvE and PvP scenarios. But, again, you must defeat Dracula and other high-level V Blood Carriers to obtain each component’s blueprint.
