Terraria Wormhole Potion Guide: How to Get, Uses, & More
Posted on by
The Wormhole Potion in Terraria is an unusual alchemic product that exists to bridge vast distances in the blink of an eye. This guide aims to educate those who wish to craft this essential consumable item, particularly in multiplayer worlds. So, keep reading to dive deep into its uses and crafting process.
First, it’s important to mention that the Wormhole Potion is only available in a multiplayer Terraria server through crafting. After acknowledging that primary requirement, players can get this consumable item as a random drop from defeating slimes and destroying pots.
Apart from being a random loot, craft the Wormhole Potion in Terraria using 3x Bottled Water, 1x Specular Fish, and 1x Blinkroot near a Placed Bottle or Alchemy Table. Note that unlocking the ability to craft the Alchemy Table will only be possible after defeating Skeletron, as this workstation randomly spawns in the dungeon.
As for its ingredients, craft a Bottled Water by using an empty bottle next to a sink or body of water. The Specular Fish can be fished from any body of water in the Forest, Jungle, or Snow biomes, but only in their Cavern, Underground, and Underworld layers. Finally, the Blinkroot is a common plant found on Dirt and Mud blocks, but you can also find it in various containers throughout the map.
Note: It’s possible to craft the Wormhole Potion in a single-player world, as long as the player is near the aforementioned crafting stations with the required ingredients.
Remember, a player can be in a multiplayer Terraria server and play in single player mode without other users online for the Wormhole Potion to drop. Then, that player can go about farming the item and then returning to their single-player server with it in their inventory.
Introduced in Update 1.3.0.1, the Wormhole Potion in Terraria is used to teleport its user to another party member on the map. Use it by viewing the map in full-screen mode. Then, select the player that you want to teleport to with the help of this potion.
This potion is a must-have when fighting bosses in a multiplayer world. For instance, a player dies in the middle of the Wall of Flesh fight. If so, that user can teleport back into the fray by teleporting to their online friends who are still engaging with the boss using the Wormhole Potion. Doing so eliminates the fairly long trek to the Underworld biome.
