Terraria Void Bag Guide: How to Get, Void Vault, & more
Posted on by
World seeds in Terraria are so massive that even the smallest map can take dozens of hours to explore, and players are rewarded for their bravery and curiosity with an abundance of loot. Then, the issue becomes holding it all!
While your storage space in Terraria is far from unlimited, you can expand it with the help of the Void Bag. So, keep reading to learn how to get the Void Bag in Terraria and how to use it to fight back against inventory management!
Introduced in Version 1.4.0.1, getting the Void Bag in Terraria is possible in pre-Hardmode, but only after defeating Skeletron with one of its crafting ingredients locked inside the dungeon. With that, craft the Void Bag using 30x Bone, 15x Jungle Spores, and 30x Shadow Scale or 30x Tissue Sample, depending on whether your world seed has the Corruption or Crimson biome.
Defeat Dungeon enemies, particularly Angry Bones, Cursed Skulls, and Dark Casters, to farm Bones. As for the Jungle Spores, get them by breaking Jungle grass in the Underground Jungle. Finally, collect Shadow Scales by defeating the pre-Hardmode Corruption world boss, Eater of Worlds, and the Tissue Samples from Creepers that spawn with the Brain of Cthulhu boss in the Crimson biome.
With the crafting ingredients in your inventory, search the map for Demon or Crimson Altars. It’s only in these unique workstations that you can craft the Void Bag in Terraria.
Equipping the Void Bag and using it as an item lets you access the Void Vault. Do so to access an extra inventory space, allowing you to bring and store additional items during exploration. Opening the Void Vault also grants additional benefits that promote convenience. For instance, you can use keys, buffs, and money without removing them from the Void Vault, as long as this pocket dimension remains open.
Remember, using the Void Bag and keeping the Void Vault open also lets you stack similar items automatically. However, you’ll stop picking up loot when an item reaches its stack limit, and the Void Vault no longer has sufficient space for additional items.
