StarRupture Calcium Ore Farming Guide: Location, Uses, & More
Posted on by
You’ll typically start mining Wolfram and Titanium Ores during the tutorial phase in StarRupture. Finish this initial lecture, and you’ll soon find yourself looking for Calcium Ore. But this time, the game won’t be holding your hand. Additionally, companies need boatloads of Calcium. So, keep reading as we guide you into searching and farming for Calcium Ore in StarRupture.
Look for small, white rocks scattered around the map. These are Calcium Ores, and these minerals are fairly easy to find while looking at the horizon, as they tend to stick out like sore thumbs.
However, mining one Calcium node will only give you one ore. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, using your handheld harvester or Mining Laser on the node can give you a few ores.
Instead, search for cream or sandstone-looking ledges with puddles on their surfaces. Here, build an Ore Excavator on top of the surface to start farming Calcium Ore.
Note that two Calcium Ore deposits can be found relatively early in the game. One of these locations is north of your starting point, and the other one is east. However, you can’t access these places if you’re still playing the tutorial, as the system creates a wall that prevents you from proceeding.
Finally, the excavator needs a suitable power source. So, place solar panels nearby, and add rails to automate Calcium Ore farming and delivery.
Tip: Play in a multiplayer StarRupture server with friends to speed up Calcium Ore farming.
It’s near impossible to progress using normal means in StarRupture without Calcium Ore. For instance, unlocking the Furnace blueprint from the Selenium Corporation requires Calcium Powder, which in turn requires Calcium Ore.
Moreover, upgrading the Recipe Station requires 50x Calcium Ore fed into the Smelter to unlock Calcium Blocks. Do so to unlock new additional blueprints to help expand your base, and, by extension, progress through the game.
