RuneScape: Dragonwilds Staves Guide: Every Staff, Stats, Crafting Recipes & More
Posted on by
When you picture dragonslaying, you most likely think of fighting an overgrown lizard with a sword and shield in hand. However, there's more than one way to make those scaly beasts bite the dirt. In RuneScape: Dragonwilds, staves are a perfect choice for the more magically-inclined dragonslayer, and we've outlined every staff option available to you right here, including their stats, power levels, and how to craft them!
In RuneScape: Dragonwilds, a magical staff is a superb choice for dealing damage at range, and can offer a bit more utility than your standard hacking and slashing tools.
No matter which type of staff you're using, you can currently equip them with one of two different elements: Air or Fire. To switch between these, you must right-click on your preferred runes within your inventory. Whichever rune you choose, your light attacks and heavy attacks with your equipped staff will use up those runes as ammunition.
If you're attacking with Air Runes, you can expect higher single-target damage with some gusty knockback effects. If you're using Fire Runes, you won't deal as much damage with each impact; however, these attacks will deal stackable damage over time and affect a wider area.
Part of staff combat in RuneScape: Dragonwilds is ensuring you always have enough ammo of each type so that you can switch between them on the fly to use the spell most appropriate for the situation. It pays to be an adaptable wizard.
Since all staves use the same spells and attacks, the only differences between them are their appearances and damage output. Early game staves might not be the most powerful tools available to you, and they can make solo play pretty challenging in comparison to other options. But if you have some friends who prefer to get up close and personal with monsters, any staff is a great choice for additional combat support, even in the early stages.
