Palworld Awakening Guide: How to Awaken Pals, Costs, & Requirements
Posted on by
Thanks to the release of Palworld 1.0, there's more to do across the Palpagos Islands than ever before. New Pals, of course, are one of the most exciting new features. However, you can also make your Pals even stronger thanks to a process known as Awakening. We've got all the info you need on how to awaken Pals in Palworld and the benefits you'll get as a result. Let's dive in!
What is Awakening in Palworld? Well, before the 1.0 update, if you wanted a Pal with specific stats, you'd mostly have to hunt for it. Whether that was catching or hatching loads of Pals. Now, Awakening allows you to permanently boost any Pal's stats. This is a way of buffing your Pals even further than you normally can with Pal Souls. As seen in the image above, an Awakened Pal will have a subtle, golden glow to signify their Awakened status.
Once you have access to an Ancient Workbench, the World Tree, and a healthy helping of Radiant Gems, you can start crafting Awakening Crystals. To make these, you'll have to plug 50 Radiant Gems of your preferred element and 10 World Tree Holy Water into your Ancient Workbench. This will make a single Awakening Crystal, but that's all you need. You can only use one Awakening Crystal on a Pal.
As a result, you need to choose carefully what element you use when giving an Awakening Crystal to a dual-type Pal. If you give an Ophydia a Grass Awakening Crystal, its Grass-type moves will become more powerful than its Water-type moves and vice versa.
To actually awaken your designated Pal with an Awakening Crystal, you need to do the following:

How to Unlock Pal Awakening
Now, before you go Awakening any Pal you want, you do need to access the endgame location of the World Tree. Yes, unfortunately, waking your Pals to their most powerful selves is an endgame activity. At the World Tree, you need to collect Radiant Gems from defeating Pals. These gems correspond to each of the different Element types in Palworld. They also drop from Pals of the same element. For example, if you want to collect Electric Radiant Gems, hunt down as many Grizzbolts as you can within the World Tree. Additionally, you must craft an Ancient Workbench at your base. These are unlocked at Technology Level 67, and require the following ingredients:- AI Cores: 5
- Bio Batteries: 20
- Soralite Ingots: 50
