Once Human Gardener Class Guide: Grafting, Best Biomechanical Parts, & More
Posted on by
The Gardener is one of the three character classes introduced in Once Human Version 2.0. As its name implies, a Meta-Human who chose this class can dust off their green thumb, enhancing their plant-cultivating prowess. So, here’s what you need to know about the Gardener Class, especially if you’re new to the game or creating another character in another Once Human server.
Unlike a normal horticulturist, the Gardener in Once Human brings chaos to farming, albeit in a good way. Instead of planting giant vegetables, you'll mix botany and biotechnology to create hybrid plants with various effects. Take advantage of this class to turn gardens into massive greenhouses or biological defense platforms.
Like other Once Human classes, selecting the Gardener at the start of the game grants unique items, namely the Portable Planter Box and Environmental Detector. Use the former to grow plants outside your territory. On the other hand, the Environmental Detector allows you to track and monitor various environmental parameters, such as soil quality, to help optimize your planting efforts.
The Gardener also has the Greenhouse Technology talent. With it, you can use the Greenhouse Module to freely adjust the environmental conditions of the garden in your territory.
Additionally, the Gardener can use the HP Sewing or Life Sewing unique skill, which allows the player to graft crops with other crops or mechanical parts. The results are either hybrid plants with additional effects or plants with unique abilities.
Note that grafting crops in Once Human is only possible on plants in Loamy Soil or the Planter Box. Plants in planter pots won’t have this option.
Next, wait for the plant to fully mature. Then, walk near the mature plant and select the “Graft” option. It’s also important to mention that some plants cannot be grafted, including Peppercorn and fruits.
A window should appear after selecting the Graft option. Select a second crop (scion) or biomechanical part to be grafted onto the base plant. Remember, grafting isn’t guaranteed, so review the Grafting Success Rate before confirming the action to avoid wasting resources. However, you can apply a catalyst to improve the odds of success.
Aside from combining the effects of two plants, the Gardener class in Once Human can use biomechanical parts acquired from defeated elite Deviants. Like the Grafting Success Rate, acquiring elite enemies doesn't always drop biomechanical parts. So, you may need to hunt these enemies a few (or many) times before getting the desired biomechanical parts.
Various biomechanical parts exist in Once Human as of Update 2.0. Below is a list of these components you can get and their respective effects when grafted:
Sometimes, it can only take a few minutes to farm a biomechanical part. Some Gardeners in Once Human aren’t as lucky, as getting their desired biomechanical parts may take more time than expected. Farm efficiently by choosing to farm the right option for grafting onto your plants.
The Morphic biomechanical part, in particular, is hailed as one of the best, if not THE best, choices for any Gardener in Once Human. Once grafted, it churns out essential items to keep your garden alive, so to speak. This component acts like a robo-farmer that does the work for you. Harvest the plant and reap the rewards without the additional grind.
Another excellent biomechanical part is the Digger. As mentioned earlier, this biomechanical part acts like a Miniature Mining Platform. This option is great for Gardeners who keep running out of ores to craft other resources, like bullets.
Finally, there’s the Rainfall Reaper. Although it provides a modest elemental damage buff, the increase in DPS is always welcome for players taking advantage of the Blaze, Frost, Shock, and Blast elements.
