One of the new features introduced in the Once Human Version 2.0 Update is the character class system. Players can choose among one of three classes: the Beastmaster, Gardener, and Chef. If you prefer preparing unique dishes for yourself and other players in the same Once Human server, then keep reading as we guide you through the ins and outs of the Chef class.

Once Human Chef Class Guide: Overview & Basics

Once Human Chef Class 2 Unlike the complex Beastmaster, the Chef in Once Human is a reasonably straightforward class. This class allows you to prepare unique dishes on any stove. A Once Human Chef also has access to other unique benefits, which are the following:
  • Glutton: The Chef can consume more food than normal to gain up to two food effects and two drink effects simultaneously.
  • Ingredient Scent: The Chef has a sharp nose for ingredients, with a chance to obtain bonus ingredients when gathering in wilderness settlements. These bonus ingredients can be obtained from fridges, beverage machines, and food crates.
  • Culinary Perfection: The Chef has a refined palate. Consuming the same creative dish repeatedly enhances its dish and ingredient effects and durations. Dishes that use different ingredients don't count as the same.

How to Make Creative Dishes with the Chef Class in Once Human

Once Human Creative Cooking For starters, interact with a stove, and you should see a new tab, saying, “Creative Cooking.” While in the Creative Cooking tab, you can select two to four ingredients to create a unique dish. You’ll also see a preview of the dish upon selecting your ingredients. Note that the preview remains blank if you have yet to prepare a dish using the selected ingredients. Once selected, begin the Creative Cooking, which makes your character visibly prepare the food. You can speed up this process by pressing the action/interact button (the “F” keyboard key for PC users by default). The game also gives you an in-game Gourmet Atlas, allowing you to view all your discovered recipes. This way, you can track ingredient farming efforts, which is ideal for preparing multiple units of the same dish.

Chef Cooking Ingredients & Effects

Once Human Chef Cooking Different cooking ingredients yield varying dishes and effects. For example, using Rabbit Meat in a recipe is beneficial for players who want to take advantage of the Fast Gunner build. Alternatively, replace the Rabbit Meat with Goat Meat if you're using a Burn weapon. Additionally, the quality of the ingredient can affect its effects. For example, the basic Turtle Meat grants the user a 2% damage bonus while in the Fortress Warfare state. However, a Fine Turtle Meat can positively affect the user’s stamina recovery speed and dish effect duration. Below are the different base ingredients you can find throughout your journeys around Nalcott:
