The island of Nalcott embodies a twisted, post-apocalyptic wilderness in Once Human. Here, Deviations run rampant, spreading throughout the region’s various biomes. Once monstrous threats, these “creatures” can be captured and synced to serve as valuable allies in the field or at the base. So, keep reading to learn what Deviations are in Once Human, along with their effects and locations.
In Once Human, Deviations are mythical creatures known as the spectral fauna of Nalcott remade by Stardust. Meta-humans can encounter these entities in the wild, either from defeated enemies or within containment units.
Capturing a Deviation in Once Human is straightforward, as PC users need only press the “F” key (by default) to secure one. Each failed apprehension increases the capture rate, with this improvement reducing when trying to obtain high-level Deviations. Failure to secure a Deviation four times will make it run away.
Note that each Deviation falls under one of three distinct yet vital purposes: Combat, Territory, and Crafting. Combat Deviations act as loyal companions in the field. Territory Deviations, such as the Logging Beaver and Electric Eel, help automate the resource economy at the base. Meanwhile, Crafting Deviations, like the Atomic Lighter, produce unique materials that can be used for various purposes, including crafting Whims.
Choose the right Deviation for your combat, territory, and crafting needs. Select from a broad range of Deviations to secure, such as the weakspot-marking Butterfly’s Emissary to the resource-automating Logging Beaver.
Note: Some Deviations are only available in specific scenarios. Also, this list of Deviations may increase in number over time, especially with the upcoming release of the Palworld x Once Human event.

Combat Deviations
Butterfly’s Emissary
- Abilities: Designated Target: Designate a target to attack with Butterfly's Emissary. Targets in the direction you are facing will be prioritized. If there are no targets in the direction you are facing, surrounding enemies will be targeted. Auto Attack: Autonomously attacks enemy targets. Marks the enemy's Weakspot upon hit and causes it to take (25.2%/25%/30%/35%) extra Weakspot DMG for 5s.

By the Wind
- Abilities: Gravity Lift: Takes effect after the player takes the throw, creating a floating area on the ground. Combat Assist: Generates a floating zone beneath the player, allowing them to freely float in the air at a fixed height. Player movement speed +20%, jump speed +2, and becomes immune to fall DMG and stagger.
- Locations: Chance to obtain after completing Prime War events.

Dr. Teddy
- Abilities: Remote Healing: Takes effect after the player takes control and throws. When it hits, there is an instant 50% heal of the target's MaxHP. If the target has fallen, revive them immediately. After landing on a target, it will continue to recover and focus on the layer. Intime Healing: 8% max hp heal per sec, revives allies.

Enchanting Void
- Abilities: Midnight Maul: After throwing, the player transforms into a panther. In panther form, automatically attack hostile targets, increasing melee damage taken by the attacked targets by 200. Lasts for 20 seconds. Combat Assist: Continue to focus on the player while in the Black Cat form. When focusing on the player, the player's Movement Speed +10% when holding a Melee Weapon, and recover 10% Max HP when hitting a target with a melee attack.

Festering Gel
- Abilities: Flawless Fortification: Upon being thrown, it knocks back enemies near the target and forms a new fortification. Build Fortification: Autonomously forms a fixed shelter that blocks attacks. Allied players near the shelter recover 6.0% HP and 3.0% Sanity every second.
- Locations: Chance to obtain after defeating the Ravenous Hunter in the Monolith of Greed and Treant at Gaia Cliff Monolith in Broken Delta.
- Preferred Environment: Expose to Red Light. Power with 5W of Electricity.
Grumpy Bulb
- Abilities: Garlicify: Takes effect upon being thrown by a player. Deals AoE Status DMG upon hit and disrupts the aggro of units in the area for 10s. Autonomous Attack: Cannot move. Continuously attracts the aggro of nearby hostile units.
- Locations: Chance to appear from a mature Onion Seed at the base.

Invincible Sun
- Abilities: Autonomous Attack: Participates in combat to periodically release blazing energy rays, which can attack all nearby enemies, inflicting continuous Burn DMG.

Lonewolf’s Whisper
- Abilities: Designated Target: Designate a target to attack with Lonewolf's Whisper. Targets in the direction you are facing will be prioritized. If there are no targets in the direction you are facing, surrounding enemies will be targeted. Auto Attack: Autonomously attacks enemy targets and attracts the aggro from nearby enemies. When a target dies, it spawns a clone. Increases Weapon DMG received by the attacked target by 21.6%.
- Locations: Chance to obtain after defeating the Shadow Hound in the Monolith of Thirst
- Preferred Environment: Expose to Red Light. Power with 5W of Electricity. Cool the area with fridges.
Mini Feaster
- Abilities: Designated Target: Designate a target to attack with Mini Feaster. Targets in the direction you are facing will be prioritized. If there are no targets in the direction you are facing, surrounding enemies will be targeted. Touch of the Abyss: Follows the player, summoning tentacles at regular intervals near enemies to smash and deal damage. When a target triggers Bounce, tentacles are guaranteed to spawn next to the target and enhance the player's weapon DMG.

Mini Wonder
- Abilities: Designated Target: Designate a target to be buffed by the Mini Wonder. Can only target allied targets. Bullet Absorption: Absorbs bullets within a certain radius and

Mr. Wish
- Abilities: Rapid Fire: Launch a burst at enemies near the crosshair or nearby hostile targets, marking them with The Bull’s Eye effect. Auto Attack: Automatically attacks hostile targets.

Polar Jelly
- Abilities: Frostlash: Upon being thrown, it knocks back enemies near the target and forms a new fortification. Auto Attack: Continuously deal Frost Status DMG to surrounding enemies and force them to move toward you. Increases Frost DMG received by surrounding targets by 36.0%. If Frost Vortexes are formed inside the radius, create additional Ice Spikes.

Pyro Dino
- Abilities: Designated Target: Designate a target to attack with Pyro Dino. Targets in the direction you are facing will be prioritized. If there are no targets in the direction you are facing, surrounding enemies will be targeted. Autonomous Attack: Autonomously attacks enemy targets. Increases target Blaze DMG received by 24.5%. When attacking targets affected by Burn, cause Explosion 1 time.

Radiant One
- Abilities: Combat Assist: Generates a floating zone beneath the player, allowing them to freely float in the air at a fixed height. Player Movement Speed +20%, jump speed +2, and become immune to fall DMG and stagger.

Shattered Maiden
- Abilities: Designated Target: Designate a target to be attacked by the Shattered Maiden. Targets in the direction you are facing will be prioritized. If there are no targets in the direction you are facing, surrounding enemies will be targeted. Auto Attack: Autonomously moves and attacks. Inflicts Slowdown and Chained to non-boss enemies in front when attacking, also increasing their Explosion DMG received by 40%.

Snapshot
- Abilities: Manual Photograph: Locks onto an enemy before dealing damage. Register more hits to the enemy to increase locking speed. Auto Photograph: Automatically seeks nearby targets, then teleports to them before taking photos. Each photo taken deals Status DMG, causing the enemy to receive 21.6% additional Weapon DMG.
- Locations: Chance to obtain after defeating the Secret Servitor in the Tundra Monolith
- Preferred Environment: Expose to Red Light. In a Cold Environment. Power with 5W of Electricity.
Snowsprite
- Abilities: Designated Target: Snowsprite prioritizes targeting enemies in the direction you are facing. If there are no targets in that direction, it will target a nearby enemy instead. Auto Attack: Generate Ice Crystals near the target every 3 seconds. Ice Crystals shatter when shot, dealing 37.5%/50%/62.5%/75%/87.5% Frost DMG to nearby targets, and causing them to take +18%/24%/30%/36%/42% Frost DMG.

Voodoo Doll
- Abilities: Designated Target: Designate a target for the Voodoo Doll to take effect. If the target is an ally, the Deviation will share a portion of the DMS taken. If the target is an enemy, the enemy will share a portion of the DMG taken by the player. Doppelganger: Continuously focuses on the player. Sharing half the DMG received by the player.

Zeno-Purifier
- Abilities: Designated target: Designate a target to attack with Zeno Purifier. Targets in the direction you are facing will be prioritized. If there are no targets in the direction you are facing, surrounding enemies will be targeted Auto Attack: Allows the player to teleport to the target with melee attacks.
- Locations: Complete the seasonal goal “Defeat 200 enemies with a melee weapon,” or find in various chests throughout Nalcott.

Territory Deviations
Berserkosaurus Rex
- Abilities: Culinary Genius: Increases your cooking proficiency. The higher the Deviant Energy level, the greater the proficiency increase.
- Locations: Complete Phase 2 of the Clash at Blackfell Public Crisis Event.

Buzzy Bee
- Abilities: Deviated Gardening: Increase the mutation chance of planted crops. The higher the Deviant Energy level, the higher the mutation chance.

Chefosaurus Rex
- Abilities: Culinary Genius: Increases your cooking proficiency. The higher the Deviant Energy level, the greater the proficiency increase.

Electric Eel
- Abilities: Electricity Fluctuations: Increases the power limit of Generators according to Electric Eel Energy level.
- Locations: Chance to obtain through fishing

Extradimensional Cat
- Abilities: Velvet Cushion: Accompanies its owner to sleep to make sure that they're fully energetic the next day.
- Locations: Spawns near the Teleportation Towers of almost every Union Stronghold.

Fetch-a-Lot Bunny
- Abilities: Collect from bushes: Automatically gathers shrubs when activated. The higher the Deviant Energy level, the more efficient the gathering is.
- Locations: Can be secured from various locations, including Dracaena at Red Sands and Bald Cypress at Iron River
- Preferred Environment: Plant crops nearby. Plant flowers nearby. Place toys around.
Flame Essence
- Abilities: Molten Heat: Increases the production efficiency of the Furnace and Electric Furnace.
- Locations: Spawns inside a container in Hearst Industries at Broken Delta or chance to obtain after completing The Empty House in Securement Silo – PSI
- Preferred Environment: Expose to Red Light. Power with 5W of Electricity. Place toys around.
Gazocchio
- Abilities: Territory Guard: Patrols the territory and attacks suspicious targets. Splits to conjure tiny "Gazocchio" every once in a while, which continuously shines light to dispel shadows.

- Preferred Environment: Expose to Blue Light. Place Toys Around. Plant Flowers Nearby. Power with 5W of Electricity.
Growshroom
- Abilities: Thriving Growth: Automatically plants seeds and accelerates crop growth. The higher the Deviant Energy rating, the faster the growth.
- Locations: May spawn after harvesting wild Mushrooms.
- Preferred Environment: Expose to Green Light. Power with 5W of Electricity. Heat the area with furnaces.
H37
- Abilities: Explorer (Activated): Loots chests in different areas. The higher the Deviant Energy level, the better the goodies it will bring back.
- Locations: Complete the “Fragments of Memory” task or chance to obtain after completing Securement Silo – ALPHA

Hydronaut Fish
- Abilities: Rapid Purification: When activated, it gathers seawater from outside your territory, occasionally yielding special catches. Operating the Water Filter or Brewing Barrel increases conversion efficiency.

- Preferred Environment: Expose to Blue Light. Place Toys Around. Plant Flowers Nearby.
Lethal Rabbit
- Abilities: Hunter Instincts: Goes out exploring and hunting with a chance to obtain animal resources. The higher the Deviant Energy level, the better the goodies it will bring back.
- Locations: Can be secured from various locations, including outside Deadsville, Heart Island, and Evergreen
- Preferred Environment: Use Red Light Connect to a power source Cool the area with fridges.
Logging Beaver
- Abilities: Log Trees (Activated): Goes out logging when activated. The higher the Deviant Energy level, the more efficient the logging is. Will use a Logging Operation Platform first if available.
- Locations: Can be secured from various locations, including Meyer’s Market, Iron River, and Broken Delta
- Preferred Environment: Plant crops nearby. Power with 5W of Electricity. Place a Radio nearby and play music.
Nutcracker
- Abilities: Mobile Turret: Patrols your territory and attacks suspicious intruders. The higher the Deviant Energy level, the more effective its attack.
- Locations: Chance to obtain after defeating the Forsaken Giant Mensdevoran in the Forsaken Monolith.
- Preferred Environment: Expose to Green Light. Power with 5W of Electricity. Place toys around.
Paper Doll
- Abilities: Safe Haven Barrier: When the Stardust Resonant Filter, walls, or floors take damage, they will automatically recover Durability. The higher the Deviant Energy level, the quicker the Durability recovery. Also enjoy a chance of finding unexpected rewards when you kill Deviants that have invaded your Territory.

Rain Man
- Abilities: Hoping for a downpour: Boost the vitality of crops. The higher the Deviant Energy rating, the greater the vitality. It also provides the right amount of irrigation water.
- Locations: Chance to obtain from various locations, including the Harborside at Broken Delta, Greywater Industrial Zone at Iron River, and Unmarked Settlement at Chalk Peak

Rebecca
- Abilities: Energy Recover: Summon Mitsuko to the territory to play piano and improve Deviant Energy recovery efficiency.
- Locations: Chance to obtain after completing the final boss of the LEA Research Lab.
- Preferred Environment: Expose to Green Light. Plant flowers nearby. Place toys around.
Tar Pudding
- Abilities: Oil Gathering: Gathers fuel around the territory. While working at the refinery facility, accelerates fuel conversion efficiency.
- Locations: Chance to obtain after completing the Avalanche Monolith in Vena Fjord
- Preferred Environment: Expose to Blue Light. In a Cold Environment.
The Digby Boy
- Abilities: Mine Ore: Goes out mining when activated. The higher the Deviant Energy level, the more efficient the mining is. Will use a Mining Operation Platform first if available.
- Locations: Complete the "Deviation Expert" task from Lowe, or chance to spawn from mining Silver Ore
- Preferred Environment: Expose to Red Light. Power with 5W of Electricity. Place a Radio nearby and play music.
Wish Box
- Abilities: Unfair Trade: Transform items placed in the Wish Box into random new items.
- Locations: Chance to obtain after defeating Morphic Crates or purchase from Severin VII-S2401

Crafting Deviations
Artisan’s Touch
- Abilities: Formula: All-Purpose Hand: Repairs the least durable gear you equip. The item disappears after use and only applies to the gear that you crafted.
- Locations: Chance to obtain after defeating a Scorcher elite enemy

Atomic Lighter
- Abilities: Tactical Item: Uncontrollable Fusion Lighter: Randomly deals varying instances of damage. Grants extra loot upon killing monsters.

Atomic Snail
- Abilities: Whim: Fluid Type: Allows you to sprint a short distance in the air after use.

Disco Ball
- Abilities: Whim: Utter Delight: Extends the duration of other Whims.
- Locations: Complete the “Hale’s Moving House” event or chance to obtain from completing “Where Does Disco Go?” Public Crisis events

Dreamcatcher
- Abilities: Whim: Web of Silk: When in danger, spits a spider web to restrain your enemies.
- Locations: Chance to obtain after defeating Arachsiam at the Mirage Monolith

Frog the Leaper
- Abilities: Whim: Spring Legs: Greatly enhances jump height but also consumes stamina.
- Locations: Chance to appear from the tops of stacked cars, including those in Riverhart Harbor, Fastened Mini Reflex Sight, and Rotten Manor
- Preferred Environment: Power with 5W of Electricity. Place toys around.
Gingerbread House
- Abilities: Tactical Item: Transformation Cookie: Changes into any object in the scene after use.
- Locations: Chance to obtain as loot from Morphic Crates throughout Nalcott, or complete the "Morphic Decoy” task from Lowe

Harveseed
- Abilities: Whim: Chloro-armor: When life is fading away, new vitality is unleashed.
- Locations: Chance to obtain after defeating Treant at the Gaia Cliff Monolith

Hug-in-a-Bowl
- Abilities: Food: Homemade Noodles: Restores Sanity to full upon consumption.
- Locations: Chance to obtain after crafting the Hug-in-a-Bowl food item

Ice Pot
- Abilities: Sticky Ice Crystal: Produces a magical adhesive ice block.

Masonic Pyramid
- Abilities: Whim: Predator: The first hit after going out of combat and into a dive must be a Crit.

Orb Lightning
- Abilities: Tactical Item: Lightning Bottle: Increases the performance of nearby Turrets upon use.

Party Monkey
- Abilities: Formula: Party Monkey: Constructing this facility will draw the aggro of monsters within its vicinity.
- Locations: Complete Production Facility Public Events at the Refinery Pollution Point and Eastern Railway Junction
- Preferred Environment: Place a Radio nearby and play music. Heat the area with Furnaces.
Pup Buddy
- Abilities: Whim: Featherweight: Max Load increased.
- Locations: Purchase from Jonathan in Greywater Camp or chance to obtain in various locations, including Blackfell Fallen Zone, Blackfell Oil Fields, and Evergreen
- Preferred Environment: Expose to Green Light. Place a Radio nearby and play music. Place toys around.
Snow Globe
- Abilities: Formula: Snowball: Inflicts Slowdown on targets upon hit and Frozen upon multiple hits.

Space Turner
- Abilities: Tactical Item: Space Twister: After use, creates a Teleport Door and summons teammates to you.

- Abilities: Formula: Portal: Once built, it allows teleportation between two doors.
