A potential mod for Elden Ring has taken the gaming community by storm, claiming to introduce not only a playable Minecraft character to the game but all of Minecraft’s mechanics as well. Is it true or just a hoax? Can it be played right now? Today we answer those questions and more in “Is the Minecraft Elden Ring Mod Real?”

What is the Minecraft Elden Ring Mod?

Posted on X by user @TobynJacobs, the viral video showcases a potential Elden Ring mod that lets fans play through Elden Ring as though it were Minecraft, complete with its combat and building mechanics recreated to levels of near perfection. To put it into perspective, this mod does not reskin Elden Ring or alter some mechanics to play more like Minecraft. It is as though Minecraft is being played and the world in use happens to be Elden Ring. All of Minecraft’s items and blocks are present, and they function exactly like they do in Minecraft. Bosses can be attacked with bows, blocked with shields, or dodged with well timed ender pearls. Players can even switch to creative and just cover the world in TNT if that’s what they prefer. And as though that were not already impressive enough, the same mod contains an entirely separate Black Ops II mode where you fight through Elden Ring as though it were Call of Duty. Just like Minecraft, Black Ops II is perfectly recreated, complete with every gun ready to be used. It is truly a mod that has potential to be groundbreaking, assuming it is real.

Is the Minecraft Elden Ring Mod Real?

Minecraft Elden Ring Mod Screenshot As of October 1, 2026, no download has been publicly shared for this mod. Currently, the author, X user @TobynJacobs, claims it is a private build still actively being worked on before its eventual release. They have also stated that the mod came to be through their experiments with AI and how advanced it has become. In response to accusations that the mod is fake, they responded by posting two separate videos from their phone of them actively playing the mod on their laptop. So, is it all real? It could be! But until there is a public release, or at the very least a closed beta test, it can’t be said for sure.

Past Work

Dark Souls Creeper Mod Screenshot X user @TobynJacobs is new to the modding scene, at least publicly. A few days before the viral Elden Ring mod post, they shared a video of a Dark Souls 1 Minecraft Creeper mod on both X and YouTube, which they claimed was also from experimenting with AI. However, as of October 1, 2026, there does not appear to be a public download for this mod either. While unrelated to their current mod projects, X user @TobynJacobs is also not an unknown name in other spaces of the internet. Their dedication to a separate hobby brought them viral internet fame in the past.
