How to Refund Hytale & Requirements
Posted on by
We've all made a gaming purchase that we don't feel great about. Maybe the game wasn't as fun as we hoped, maybe it was too buggy, or maybe we simply spent too much money. Whatever the case, refunds for digital games can either be a messy task or a smooth procedure. If you find yourself wondering how to refund Hytale, we have the information you need down below.
If you're a Steam user, you might be familiar with Valve's competitive refund policy. However, Hytale runs on its own launcher. As a result, the refund process is a bit different than most games today. Yet, it should feel similar to Steam users at the same time. It seems that Hypixel Studios has taken a page out of Valve's book, as its refund policy states the following:
If your purchase is made after the early access launch, you have 14 days after purchase and less than 4 hours of playtime to request a refund.
Much like Steam, you have two weeks from the time of purchasing Hytale to get your money back. Unlike Steam, you have four hours of playtime to make this decision rather than two. The tricky part here, however, is that neither Hytale nor its launcher has a way to track your playtime. The most reliable method is to add Hytale as a non-Steam game to your Steam library. There, Steam will actually track the amount of time that you have spent in the title. However, this might not be too useful if you've already played plenty of hours before deciding to refund the game.
If you do meet the refund prerequisites, the next thing you need to do is submit a ticket through the Hytale support page. Here, you need to provide your email address, the topic of your ticket, and a brief description of your request. Naturally, if you're seeking a refund, this is where you would want to let Hypixel Studios know. Your ticket will be reviewed, your account will be viewed to see if it falls within the parameters of qualifying for a refund, and you'll be good to go!
