Hytale Kweebec Trading Guide: Rootling Merchant Locations, Inventories, How to Trade, & more
Posted on by
In Hytale, some of the few friendly faces you'll come across are Kweebecs, a friendly villager-adjacent NPC group that forms friendly villages in the trees (and they are even tree-like humanoids themselves!) These Kweebec villages include the Rootling Merchant, a trading NPC that has a rotating inventory of goodies to sell to players for Essences of Life.
Here we'll cover where to find Rootling Merchants in Hytale, their inventory options, their rotating schedule, and overall, how to trade with the Kweebec to get some awesome goodies!
Kweebec Traders, called Rootling Merchants, are available inside of Kweebec villages. They have a kind of hut structure that they stand beside, two trunks with a small leafy overhead. This, we can consider their "stall".
Kweebec villages are made within and around large trees, so they should be easy to spot once you're around one, and they're especially easy to notice on your map after the fact (so don't worry if you forgot to put down a note in your minimap)!
Rootling Merchants are identifiable by their headdress and earrings, though they are also the only type of Kweebec that will display an interaction option when looking at them directly. Once you've found a Rootling Merchant, simply press F (or your default interaction key) to begin trading.
These items include anything from important ingredients like dough and salt to cooked consumable items like skewers and pies, making them perfect for building up your home and food supply! These trades might have rare items of other types as well, so always check to see if there's anything you want available!
All goods are purchased with Essence of Life, so make sure to stock up before you visit these friendly folk! Typical costs range from 20 to 75 Essence of Life per item based on rarity and value.

Hytale Rootling Merchant Inventory (Trade Goods, Price/Cost, & Inventory Schedule)
Rootling Merchants trade a number of useful items, and their inventories rotate every 2 in-game days to keep the variety up.
These items include anything from important ingredients like dough and salt to cooked consumable items like skewers and pies, making them perfect for building up your home and food supply! Hytale Rootling Merchant Behaviors
The Hytale Rootling Merchant is friendly, like the rest of the Kweebecs. If you happen to accidentally hit one of the Kweebec villagers, however, the guards (who wield spears) will at least temporarily aggro to you. Eventually, if you run and return, however, their aggro should drop, and at no point does the Rootling Merchant seem to turn hostile at all. To trade with the Rootling Merchant in Hytale, simply approach them (they're the Kweebec with the headdress and earrings), and click F to see their trading inventory. This inventory rotates every 2 in-game days, meaning that if you don't see something you like, don't stray too far, and check again once the time is up!Join our Newsletter
