Your weapon can make (or break) the tide of battle, especially in Hytale. Choosing the ideal weapon that aligns with your unique playstyle can significantly improve survivability, especially when taking on the game’s relentless challenges. Prepare for these endeavors by joining us as we look at the best weapons in Hytale!

Top 10 Best Weapons in Hytale

Hytale Best Weapons Note that the following list of the best weapons in Hytale has been reviewed after looking at various factors during the game’s Early Access. Nonetheless, the options mentioned below shouldn’t restrict players from choosing which weapon to use based on their unique playstyles. Still, let these choices help those looking for the ideal weapon as they combat Hytale’s many challenges. Note: Check out our Hytale Weapons Guide for a comprehensive look at every weapon in Early Access.

10. Flame Longsword

As of Version 2026.01.15-c04fdfe10, two-handed longswords are only available by accessing Creative Mode. Those who don’t mind instantly acquiring the best weapons in Hytale without the grind may consider using the Flame Longsword. After all, enemies hit with this blade will burn in fiery ash, thanks to the high damage numbers it brings.

9. Onyxium Longsword

Although it falls short of firepower (no pun intended) when compared to the Flame Longsword, the Onyxium Longsword can be a better choice for some players. In particular, Hytale has an element system, and the game might include an elemental resistance mechanic over time. With that, the Onyxium Longsword is a non-elemental blade, making it a suitable choice for dealing with enemies that may be resistant to fire.

8. Onyxium Axe

Currently, the one-handed axe weapon archetype has no ultimate or blocking animation. It can only do the basic melee weapon animations. But for some players, these animations are enough to slice their foes to shreds, especially with the Onyxium Axe. This one-handed axe, in particular, grants users reasonably high damage numbers, allowing them to efficiently deal with many of Hytale’s hostile enemies.

7. Mithril Battleaxe

Do you prefer a melee weapon that ensures massive damage with each swing? If so, then the two-handed battleaxe can be the weapon archetype for you, and the Mithril Battleaxe can be the ideal choice in this regard. Craft it using 10x Mithril Ingot, 4x Storm Leather, and 1x Voidheart at a Tier 3 Blacksmith’s Anvil, and you’ll be defeating creatures left and right with relative ease.

6. Mithril Mace

We place the Mithril Mace higher than the Mithril Battleaxe in this list of the best weapons in Hytale for one reason: crowd control. When charged or using its ultimate ability, this one-handed mace doesn’t fall short when decimating groups. If interested, gather and use 10x Mithril Ingot, 4x Storm Leather, and 1x Voidheart at a Tier 3 Blacksmith’s Anvil to craft this weapon.

5. Mithril Shortbow

If you prefer a ranged weapon to efficiently deal with enemies from afar, then the Mithril Shortbow can be the ideal option. Like other Mithril-tier weapons, craft this item at a Tier 3 Blacksmith’s Anvil using 6x Mithril Ingot, 3x Storm Leather, and 3x Voidheart. Even though Hytale Early Access only has Crude Arrows as ammunition for bows, they’re good enough to help deal great damage to foes while maintaining a safe distance from them.

4. Mithril Daggers

Arguably, the dual daggers have the fastest animations among melee weapons in Hytale. So, slice and dice your opponents into tiny pieces with the Mithril Daggers. These endgame daggers can be crafted at a Tier 3 Blacksmith’s Anvil using 10x Mithril Ingot, 3x Storm Leather, and 1x Voidheart. Once completed, watch those high damage numbers pile up quickly, which can even make quick work of bosses like the Earthen Golem guarding the portal to the Forgotten Temple.

3. Rifle

Like the two-handed longswords and one-handed maces, guns in Hytale Early Access can only be accessed through Creative Mode. Currently, firearms use Crude Arrows as ammunition, including the Rifle. However, unlike bows, guns, especially the Rifle, shoot the arrows with explosive force toward enemies. That way, this long-range weapon can be a better alternative to players who may not want to calculate the trajectory of an arrow’s flight when using a bow.

2. Ice Crystal Staff

It’s clear that staves in Hytale Early Access are still works in progress (WIPs). However, two are in a more finished state than the others, and one of them is the Ice Crystal Staff. Use it to fire ice bolts at enemies at a distance. You can also hold the right mouse button to fire a more powerful ice bolt at foes, which can be beneficial when dealing with those weak to ice when Hytale introduces elemental weaknesses.

1. Mithril Sword

The one-handed sword is great for those looking for a weapon that offers a good balance between offense and defense. In particular, the Mithril Sword offers excellent damage to most enemies while still allowing you to equip a shield. Its ultimate movie is a spin-and-stab combo, providing some degree of crowd control when dealing with groups. If interested, craft this weapon at a Tier 3 Blacksmith’s Anvil using 6x Mithril Ingot, 4x Storm Leather, and 1x Voidheart.
