Weapons Overview

Hytale Early Access includes many types of weapons, ranging from guns to magic staves. However, only five categories are complete and available through vanilla means. A completed weapon by Hytale’s standards includes a primary attack, secondary attack, block (and/or third attack), and ultimate ability. The only exception to these rules are thrown weapons, which are consumed upon use or enter a temporary cooldown.

Daggers offer a very fast melee attack combo and a pouncing stab attack when charged, which launches the player forward. When both the melee combo and pounce are used in tandem, it creates a mobile and fast-paced fighting style. The ultimate ability of daggers is a rapid single-target melee combo.

One-handed swords offer a quick attack combo and a lunging stab attack when charged. Their damage is weaker than that of two-handed options, but the ability to use a shield alongside the sword makes up for this weakness with much greater defence. The ultimate ability of one-handed swords is an AOE spin attack followed by a powerful lunge forward.

Maces offer slow, repeating swings from side to side and a powerful horizontal swing when charged. They are slower than most other weapons, including battleaxes, but make up for it with strong attacks that can hit multiple enemies. The ultimate ability of maces is a jumping downward slam that deals damage in a very wide area.

Tactical weapons are items that are thrown to deal damage or perform another beneficial effect. They offer no ultimate ability.

Popberry Bomb

Popberry Bombs explode upon contact or after a few seconds, whichever comes first. In either case, the explosion causes area of effect damage, and the bomb is lost.
