Gliders have been in the game files since Hytale’s initial release, but as of Update 7, one can now be obtained through vanilla means! So, today, we answer how to get the scrap glider in Hytale.

How to Get the Scrap Glider in Hytale

Step 1: The Goblin Tinkerer’s Workbench

The scrap glider can only be crafted at the goblin tinkerer’s workbench. To access this workbench, players must first travel to the forgotten temple and then the goblin-themed structure to the left of the memory shrine. Inside, a broken goblin power generator sits next to a doorway blocked by lasers. Unfortunately, the goblin tinkerer’s workbench is on the other side, so the lasers must be dealt with first. Head over to the broken goblin power generator and interact with it. The generator will state that 10 scraps are required to complete the necessary repairs. If this is the first time an interaction with the generator has taken place, it will also trigger goblin breaches to begin appearing across the world. These breaches contain portals to The Guttering Hollows, the source of scraps and other materials necessary for both the glider and steps ahead. After venturing into The Guttering Hollows and obtaining ten scraps, the generator can be repaired, granting access to the previously blocked room where the goblin tinkerer’s workbench sits waiting just off to the right.

Step 2: Unlocking the Recipe

Most recipes for the goblin tinkerer’s workbench start as locked, and this includes the scrap glider. To unlock it, the boiler to the right of the workbench must be repaired using two dubious assembly and two spider silk. The dubious assembly recipe is unlocked by default within the goblin tinkerer’s workbench and requires a total of 50 scraps and 2 void crystal shards to craft two. Much like before, the items necessary can all be obtained within The Guttering Hollows.

Step 3: Crafting the Goblin Glider

• Dubious Assembly x6
• Scraps x50
• Spider Silk x3
• Voidtaken Grizzly Hide x1

With the scrap glider recipe unlocked, all that remains is crafting it. The bulk of the cost is scraps, requiring 50 outright and then 150 more for 6 dubious assembly. Otherwise, the only ingredient that can cause some trouble is the voidtaken grizzly hide dropped by voidtaken grizzly bears. These bears only spawn during the “Predator Spotted” world event within The Guttering Hollows, but once the event does occur, the drop rate is 100%. Finally, with all the items in hand, return to the goblin tinkerer’s workbench and craft the scrap glider that has been rightfully earned!
