Enshrouded Update #7: Wake of the Water - Release Date, Trailer, & New Features

Flameborns should prepare to experience a new tide in Embervale, as Enshrouded Update #7: Wake of the Water will release soon! Prepare to master new swimming mechanics and confront the horrors lying in wait deep within the waters of the new biome.

Release Date

The Wake of the Water Update for Enshrouded will be coming to the shores of Embervale in October 2025. However, the exact date at which Update #7 will be released isn't officially revealed at the time of writing. Still, it might launch in the first week of that month or by the end of October, considering most of the previously released major updates dropped during those periods. To give context to Update #7’s possible release date, here’s a list of launch dates of past major updates:

New Content & Features

Currently, information about the new content, features, and improvements included in the Enshrouded Update #7 is scarce, apart from the recently released teaser trailer from Gamescom 2025. Nonetheless, it's possible to speculate on some elements arriving with this major patch from the 1-minute clip.

New Water Biome

Enshrouded developer Keen Games announced a water biome to be added to the game as part of their 2025 roadmap. Soon, Flameborns will be able to enjoy this new region and all of its aquatic splendor.

New Swimming Mechanic

Part of the teaser trailer saw a Flameborn diving into a body of water in the new biome. Then, the character swam underneath, highlighting a new swimming mechanic and underwater exploration. This new system may include an oxygen meter, reminding players that they can’t stay underwater indefinitely.

New Enemies

Like true Enshrouded nature, Update #7 brings new challenges to those brave enough to venture into the deep, watery abyss. The teaser trailer showcased aquatic enemies chasing Flameborns, which may also hint at new underwater combat mechanics.

Fishing

Fishing will soon arrive in Enshrouded, and it’s a “blink and you’ll miss it” moment when watching the teaser trailer. Players can soon wield handy fishing rods and catch various fish across the waters in and around the new water biome.
