Enshrouded 1.0: New Improvements Revealed - Character Customization, Fishing Fixes, & More
Posted on by
Are you ready, Flameborn? Enshrouded 1.0 is arriving on October 15, and it's promising a huge number of additions, bug fixes, and adjustments. While we don't have the full list of everything that will be included yet, we do have a new dev update video to sate our hunger for more Enshrouded info. Want to know what's coming? We've outlined all of the latest news below, including boss changes, fishing fixes, and more revealed today by Keen Games!
The development team behind Enshrouded listens closely to player feedback and has learned that not everyone liked the changes to the updraft system while gliding. Specifically, the charging time was added to the updraft mechanic. There will be a new setting that players can choose called Updraft Charge Speed. This allows players to switch between the original and instant updraft systems. You'll be able to glide however you like!
While Enshrouded has a very stylized look, some folks haven't been crazy about player character proportions. A new setting will be added to allow your custom character to have more human-like proportions rather than a hobbit-like build, and you don't even need to make a brand new character to do this. The NPC Elio Richi will allow you to redesign your character's proportions alongside their hairdo and more.
There have been some player complaints about how frustrating fishing can feel. To remedy this, bait now has a higher chance of attracting fish that come from the same biome as the bait. Additionally, the better the bait, the better the chance of finding higher-quality fish, and where you fish no longer dictates the fish you will find. However, there are some fishing spots that still have a higher chance of offering more bites on your hook in general, as well as spots that can have you fish up treasure or trash instead.
Enshrouded 1.0: New Improvements Revealed
Fell Dragon Youngling Fixes & Changes
One of the biggest challenges you can face in Enshrouded is the Fell Dragon Youngling. However, some bugs have made it too difficult for many players in the past. The devs will be fixing a bug where the Fell Dragon Youngling would occasionally reset to full health during battle (yikes!) and another that caused the beast to get stuck in a certain spot. Additionally, the arena in which you fight the dragon will have more area for movement. There will even be an additional combat phase where the dragon sets down on the ground for a short time. This should give melee players a much-needed boost when trying to fight the flighty foe. Combined with the fact that fewer hits will be required to stun the dragon, reducing its overall health, and boosting the critical damage it takes from being struck in its hind weak spot, this fight should be much more approachable while retaining the danger of, well, fighting a dragon. One change that's currently being tested will affect not only the Fell Dragon Youngling, but all enemies. Rather than having an enemy's health refill when you die, their health will slowly start to regenerate. This should make tougher fights much less of a brick wall.Updraft Changes

Fixing Stuck NPCs
As players build their expansive bases in Enshrouded, it's not uncommon for NPCs to get stuck within the environment. Pets, vendors, and random passersby can clip into bookcases, walls, or get stuck on top of buildings. The developers have implemented plenty of fixes for these scenarios, but it's also a situation they will continue to monitor as needed.Fishing Fixes
