Defenses will keep you alive as you go up against seemingly endless waves of the undead in 7 Days to Die. One of the ways to improve your chances of survival is by setting up an Electric Fence perimeter. We're here to help you in that regard by giving you this 7 Days to Die Electric Fence Guide. So, keep reading and learn how to set it up and use it properly.

Crafting an Electric Fence Post in 7 Days to Die

7 Days to Die Electric Fence Post First, craft two units of Electric Fence Post in 7 Days to Die. Unlock this recipe by reading 25x Electrical Traps magazines. Then, interact with the Workbench and use at least 5x Forged Iron and 3x Electrical Parts. Note that higher levels of the Advanced Engineering perk use fewer materials than normal, particularly from Level 3.

How to Wire an Electric Fence in 7 Days to Die

7 Days to Die Electric Fence Wire Set the two Electric Fence Posts in your preferred positions. Ensure that the stakes aren't too far apart. Next, use the Wire Tool to connect the two posts. Then, connect one Electric Fence Post to a nearby power source for the assembly to function as intended. Note that the assembly needs 5 Watts for it to work. Note: Check out our 7 Days to Die Electricity Guide to learn more about setting up power and connecting devices in your base.

Electric Fence Usage, Debuffs, & Damage

7 Days to Die Electric Fence Usage Note that a charged Electric Fence can affect the living and the undead. That also means players walking into a live Electric Fence receive damage and the Shocked status effect. A player with this debuff loses 3 health every 0.5 seconds for up to 4.5 seconds, leading to a total of 13.5 health lost. Suppose an enemy doesn't die from walking into a live Electric Fence. In that case, it’ll become immune to receiving the Shocked status effect for 1.5 seconds after the initial instance of the debuff expires. Additionally, the Electric Fence receives 1 damage to its durability each time it shocks a player or enemy. An Electric Fence with a durability below 50 can’t deliver the Shocked status effect, so you'll need to repair the assembly somewhat regularly using Electrical Parts and Forged Iron. Note: Using the Electric Fence in 7 Days to Die should have minimal risk of crashing the game after the launch of Alpha 18.4.
