Sometimes, surviving the seventh night isn't about your weapons or base design. Instead, it might be your graphics settings holding you back. We can give you a heads-up on the best 7 Days to Die graphics settings for performance, as well as the best gameplay features that transform the zombie-slaying experience.

With a PC that meets the recommended specs, you can start working on setting the correct settings. Once you’re done, you’ll spend less time fighting dropped frames and more time surviving the apocalypse. Below, we've listed the settings to use for a balance between image quality and performance, as well as those to help the game run as smoothly as possible on lower-end builds. Of course, if you have newer hardware, you can increase certain settings for improved visuals

Display Settings

These changes can be found within the game's Video settings in the Display tab. Most of these won't affect your game's overall performance too much. However, the upscaler mode can make a difference based on your computer's specs. If you want a more balanced experience between image quality and performance, the upscaler mode is best when set to Balanced. Meanwhile, despite the fact that there is a Performance setting within the upscaler presets, turning the upscaler off entirely can help performance even further.
Best Balanced Settings
  • Resolution: 1920x1080
  • Fullscreen: On
  • Upscaler Mode: On
  • Upscaler Preset: Balanced
  • VSync: Half
  • FPS Limit: Off
  • Brightness: 50%
