There's more than one way to best your foes in Windrose. Bludgeoning them with maces, slashing them with cutlasses, and filling them full of buckshot are all great choices for any pirate captain. However, there's something special about running your foes through with a nice, sharp point. On the seas of Windrose, few stabbing weapons hold a candle to the ultra-powerful Rapier of Devastation. Here, we'll tell you how to get it, its stats, and the best build for it.

How to Get the Rapier of Devastation in Windrose

Windrose Rapier of Devastation screenshot Unfortunately, the Rapier of Devastation is a random drop. That means you will have to do a whole lot of exploring, fighting, and plundering until it falls into your lap. Luckily, there are some places where you're more likely to find it. The Tainted Ruins and Crypt dungeons in the Cursed Swamp have a slightly higher chance of dropping the Rapier due to these areas being at a higher level. Like other items, it can also be dropped and picked up by other players in multiplayer settings to unlock as a discovery. Like many items in Windrose, you'll unlock the crafting recipe for the Rapier of Devastation after you've collected one for the first time as a discovery. Then, you can create as many as you like at a Weaponsmith Workshop with these ingredients:
  • Rough Hide: 2
  • Copper Ingot: 3
  • Ingot Arborum: 5
Keep in mind that the Rapier can come in both Rare and Epic forms. They do the same amount of damage, but the Epic variant has an additional effect. If you have a Rare one, you can ascend it to Epic status using a Weaponsmith Workshop and the following ingredients:
  • Rapier of Devastation (Rare): 1
  • Tumbaga Ingot: 7

Rapier of Devastation Stats

The Rapier of Devastation is best used for single-target damage. This doesn't mean it's ineffective against larger groups of enemies, but it does mean you'll need to carefully focus your attention in combat. The Rapier's primary perk makes it most effective when repeatedly attacking the same foe. So, in combat, do your best to hit all of your attacks on a singular target until they're dead and done. If you're facing off against a boss such as the imposing Israel Hands, the Rapier of Devastation will be your best friend. Here are all of the Rapier's noteworthy stats and effects as an Epic drop:
  • Attack: 380
  • Pierce Damage: 210
  • Effect: Light Attacks apply up to 8 Plague marks. Heavy Attacks consume all accumulated marks, dealing bonus Damage for each.
  • Epic Only Effect: If Heavy Attack consumes more than 5 Plague marks, you restore 40% of your Maximum Health.

Best Rapier of Devastation Build in Windrose

Windrose Fighting with Rapier of Devastation Any pirate worth their salt will carefully consider their build when equipping a weapon. It's not enough to simply grab a sword and start swinging. You'll want skills and buffs that synergize so that you can dispatch your enemies with ease. For the Rapier of Devastation, you'll be building for precision damage. As a result, you ought to put as many stat points as possible into your Precision damage. The Rapier of Devastation will provide you with heaps of damage and, if you're using an Epic variant, some powerful survivability.
