While it's currently in early access, Voyagers of Nera still has many mysteries to discover and enjoy. Fortunately, developer Treehouse Games isn't slowing down! The studio has released a sneak peek at some of its content plans for the title. Player-requested features, bug fixes, and the fully fleshed-out Voyagers of Nera roadmap paint a promising future for the oceanic survival title!

Voyagers of Nera Roadmap Overview: What's Coming Up?

Voyagers of Nera roadmap graphic As you can see in the image above, plenty of sizable updates are planned for the immediate future. Bug fixes, new sound effects, an expanded soundtrack, and user interface adjustments will arrive soon. They'll be followed in November by a huge suite of quality-of-life fixes. Including the following:
  • Improved Controller Support
  • Solution for Solo Sailers
  • Combat Improvements
  • Updates to Ruins and Constructs
  • Balance and Progression Changes
  • Inventory Improvements
  • More Settings
    • Mouse sensitivity, mouse smoothing, toggle spring, remap hotbar
  • Building Improvements
  • Dedicated Server Improvements
There are already many upcoming adjustments, but it doesn't stop there. A winter update will also bring revamped companion spirits, storms, and boat improvements. Finally, the roadmap mentions plans for expanded server settings, a new biome, expanding the building system, and loads more.

Voyagers of Nera - Player Requested Features & Responses to Feedback

As mentioned in its community announcement, Treehouse Games has adjusted the Voyagers of Nera roadmap. Originally, the plan was to implement the game's newest biome before the end of 2025. However, the studio has shifted its plans to accommodate the most player-requested features first. While delaying this large piece of additional content might be disappointing to some, the studio emphasizes the importance of listening to player feedback while the game is in its early access period. Treehouse Games outlined the following upcoming changes and fixes as a direct response to player feedback:
  • Solo Boat Handling
    • One near-universal response - boat handling can be too cumbersome, especially if you're alone.
  • Lack of Control Settings
    • Things like controller support, mouse sensitivity settings/input settings are currently lacking.
  • Lack of Enemy and Boss Variety
    • Lack of enemy variety, specially around the Construct fights and their repeat appearances.
  • Poor Performance/GPU Crashes
    • Many are having unanticipated performance or crash issues.
  • General Balance Hotspots
    • Crafting from chests coming online too late.
    • Ore weight vs Encumbrance not feeling well-balanced.
    • XP pacing being too fast.
  • Bugs, bugs, bugs!
    • Bugs with Spire Encounters not completing correctly.
    • Bugs with quests that block progression.
    • Bugs with hallways not being detectable.
    • Quest markers continuing to show up.
    • And more! We'll be trying to knock out all of the most severe bugs.
Again, Treehouse Games has stated that its primary goal is to address the most uncomfortable aspects of the game, as identified by players. By doing so, Treehouse Games aims to deliver a more streamlined and intuitive experience to existing players of the oceanic world of Nera and to future players. While the new biome and other major features won't be available until 2026, the studio appears to have plenty of fixes and additions to continue evolving the game throughout the rest of the year.
