Valheim Trader Guide: All Locations, Inventories, Prices, & more
Posted on by
As a survival crafting game, there's plenty of stuff to loot, create, and discover on your own as you adventure through Valheim. However, there are also a few handy and helpful traders scattered around who can give you a few more unique items. These range from valuable ingredients to pieces of clothing and many other items. We have the info on all Valheim trader locations and inventory right here!
Naturally, traders won't just give their goods away. The good merchanfolk of Valheim only desire one thing: coins. You'll need plenty of them for trading with the game's three different traders.
However, gathering sufficient funds isn't the trickiest part of engaging in trade. Since Valheim maps are procedurally generated, it can be tricky to locate each trader on a different map. Thankfully, each one of them sticks to a specific biome. We also have a few helpful hints to help you locate these vendors.
Haldor is often the easiest trader to find and the one who will have items that are more useful for the early game. He is always found within a 1500m radius from your world's center. He also sets up shop exclusively within Black Forests. As a result, you can easily find him by exploring any Black Forest that spawns near your original spawn point.
Once you've found Haldor, you can make your life much easier by building a portal near his shop. Portals aren't exactly early-game tools, but they can be beneficial for zipping back and forth between your home and Haldor.
Hildir is Haldor's sister. Unfortunately, she's a bit trickier to locate. She makes her home in the meadows, so you don't have to worry too much about hostile foes getting in your way. However, she always spawns within a 3000 to 5100 meter radius from the world's center. That might give you some direction on where to find her, but that can cover a lot of in-game ground.
Fortunately, as long as you move relatively close to Hildir's location, an icon will mark her appearance on your map. This icon resembles a piece of clothing, so be mindful of your map's updates. This clothing icon reflects the fact that Hildir primarily sells clothing. You can increase her stock by finding her missing Bronze, Silver, and Brass chests, but the effects of all her stock remain the same throughout. The only thing that changes as her stock increases is the appearance
Finally, the Bog Witch. This is the newest trader in the world of Valheim, and, sadly, probably the hardest to find. Swamps themselves aren't too tricky to find, but they can be tough to navigate. Before you go out hunting for the Bog Witch, you'll want to make sure you have plenty of higher-level gear.
You'll need to venture out further than Hildir to find the Bog Witch. Her home will appear on your map as a cauldron icon when you're close enough, but you'll have to search for a while. She can only spawn between 3000 and 8000 meters from the world center. If you're going to place a portal next to any of the traders, this would be the one.
The Bog Witch gives a healthy helping of magical ingredients that you can use for cooking food and brewing mead. Some of these dishes you can prepare with her help offer huge buffs, so make sure you frequent the Bog Witch as you venture toward more challenging late-game activities.
